I will look into that . that will save me a lot of money in mold fees. I just want to offer as many options to my customers. all this wish list started with how to deal with my own mistakes aka forgot to charge batteries , forgot to take batteries with me etc...

Romaniac, I think these are sold at deal extreme but not sure. I will check. I have one that was made by a member here a couple of years ago that is made out of lexan the size of a 18650 that the 14500 slips right into the lexan tube. On either end of this clear tube is a copper connector. Pretty clever idea. Works very well. Could be amde pretty cheap but the labor might be a little more than the tubing.. Works in any mod though without any rattle around.

I am researching a way to get them done. it will be a matter of chance . I will have to make a small number and if popular then find a better alternative so the price will improve.

I have a member of the forum getting a prototype holster ready also for both models. We will see the prototype I will post a picture when ready and based on reactions we will have it available or not.

I guess I am just missing something somewhere, but I am not seeing a link to website to order... maybe it's cause I was up most of the night, but can someone help me out here... I have a ton of 14500's and 18650's and chargers, and also a ton of 510 stuff, so this mod sounds like it is right up my alley.

Look into mini mag lite holsters. There is a wide variety of them on the market and they are just about the perfect size for PV's. I am using one by Nite Ize that is designed for a Leatherman type tool and mag lite side by side. It will hold my flashlight mod, ego, extra cartomizers and batteries. It's great for when i'm out in the yard working. These would make a good design guide to for how to set up your custom one.

Do you think the 18650 NoEgo will fit?

My flash light mod fits in the leatherman side good and a standard ego fits real loose in the flashlight side. One thing however is with my ego I need to get some sort of button cover as it is real easy to activate it in the case. I will check the fit when mine arive. I am guessing the 14500 will fit good in the flashlight side and the 18650 will fit in the leatherman side. One not the leatherman side is shallower and I have to take the carto off of the flashlight or not fold the flap over.

mine is actually an older version of this. Probably close to 10 years old.
Even my weller mod will fit in the leatherman side however the flap won't fold all the way over.

You can even stuff a juice bottle in the lower pocket and there is a pocket on the back side you can stuff other things into. I used to use this as a mini tool belt back when I did telecom =]

Bstdeh let me show you what I have in mind. this is a tryout tester for one of my pipes made by one of the forum members. hand stitched and real leather. First is the drawing I sent him and the other two are pics of the the first prototype. I do realize that they will be a little more expensive but I love them. the ego holster I will have made will be made in similar fashion.

That's pretty sweet.

About the only thing I would change on that is maybe a little strap underneath the side holsters so the batt and carto's can't fall through if pushed up against something. Other than that maybe a small covered side pouch for the cartos so they stay clean. Nice overall work though.

edit: I lost my spare carto twice today wile out working in the yard =]

I guess I always think "cover" because I work outside in all kinds of weather. =]

I have another question - Do you have any kind of switch protector? Something similar to the standard ego switch protector. That is the only thing I don't like about my standard ego. I burn out a carto about once a week from accidentally activating the button. I haven't bothered getting a protector yet because I have been mostly using my mods lately.

It is just a prototype but well noted! maybe the battery holder is a bit to much. No at this point i do not have the covers for buttons , but I will . the straps on the cartos will be not as wide so both condom caps will fit on both sides

I'm thinking of visiting the local acrylic supplier and seeing if they can make me a small circle of acrylic that would slip over the switch body with a horseshoe cut for the button. That way the top of the button would be flush with the acrylic and it would be able to be activated without removing the protector and loosing it =]. I will let you know how it works out if they can even make it. They have made a couple of custom items for me in the past at low cost. If it works out I will send you one to test.
