The 18650s look great. I want to buy one... The only concern I have is that they are regulated at 3.7? My understanding is that means even when the batt is fully charged at 4.2, the NoEgo will only put out 3.7? If so, may be a dealbreaker for me as I depend on that 4.2. ;)

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the 18650's are regulated. I believe the 14500's are regulated and that's the main reason I haven't bought one. The 18650 works great, and I really like it.

Im not sure either are, when you put an IMR in these they most definitely hit harder from my experience.! Guys I have tested reg LioN vs IMR Batts in these, the IMR most definitely seems to hit harder, has anyone else tried or done this ?

Romaniac should answer this question, I think like MisterCombo21, it could be importand to some people. Not me, I want a VV , so the 4.2 to 3.7 question is erelevant to me.

Yeah, I bought the 18650 with the intention of making it a V V when that option becomes available. In the meantime, as a 3.7 it works great!

Romaniac- will u have multiple color options on the 18650 when available? Checked the site, saw no options... Prefer silver to avoid chipping. Thanks.

I will have a silver one arriving this week . SmokTek is giving me the runaround about the 5V switches. I hope they will be here this week. Here is the picture of the new 18650 NoEgo. I hope they will be here soon.

Does the NoEGO 14500 use protected batteries?

Protected batteries are generally the safest choice.

I personally have been using Ultrafire Protected 14500's, I am not overly happy with their performance and am planning on finding a better battery in the near future. I would recommend finding a 14650 with the highest C ratting you can find.

I use unprotected batteries in the 18650 with good success but it is not recommended for safety reasons. The risks can be mitigated with care an monitoring of the batteries. Both of these devices seem to cut out when the battery drops below 3.6V so IMO unprotected batteries are usable if you take care.

Saw no response, guessing Romaniac missed my post.

If I was the one producing the 5 V switch I would take pre-orders. Unfortunately is not produced by me and I already look bad for repeating what i was told for the last 4 weeks by SmokTech. I know that the copper 3.7 V are in transit right now but the switch is not yet shipped and honestly i do not know why. I can not get a clear answer they keep telling me that it will be finished and shipped right away for the last month. Sorry for missing your post earlier
