The button is soooo stiff. My hand hurts from vaping for the last hour. I might order the 18650 tube to be able to get a good grip on it. Aside from the button it hits nicely.

The 18650 Tube doesn't help, I have both. I am looking for the brass button for the Sigelei 19 without magnet or glue. It supposedly fits the 8w but they are out of stock everywhere.

I agree the button is a bear.

#8w in various stages of polish of the brass.
Left: 3 rounds of 320 -> 1000 -> 2000 -> Sharkhide (today)
Center: 2 rounds of 320 -> 20000 -> Sharkhide (2 days ago)

#8 unpolished for reference - same brass finish the #8ws began with

Perhaps my grip will get stronger using it lol. "Grip is everything" as my pops used to say. If you do find a place that has the 19 buttons PLEASE share!

Well if youre bat-s**t crazy like me, take off the bottom/button, hold two fingers on top of it (ie where the vattery would sit) and your thumb on the button and spend an hour (i used a whole episode of American Pickers and then some) sitting there actuating it quite quickly. It will break in significantly and wont hurt your fingers anymore, but be warned you will notice the inevitable button 'play' more.

The button really has multiple issues, the spring being the most immediately noticeable, the side to side play (ie pressing on the outer edge of the button) and binding is also an issue. I intend on going thru the apparently major hassle of disassembling it at some point and seeing what can be done.

p.s. Your hand will be sore the next day...lol

p.p.s. Dont get me wrong i still love it.

Still looking for a Sigelei 19 Brass bottom button. If anyone finds them in stock (any where) PM me. Thanks.

PS: Jeeves, I think you will end up damaging your 8w if you aren't very careful. Replacement of the 8w switch with the brass 19 bottom switch seems to be the answer. Correct me (anyone) if I am wrong.

I also hear the #19 tubes fit to make it telescopic on the 8w. I have a 19 collecting dust. Anyone can confirm that #19 fits without modifications? Please let me know.

yes, look at my post #61

how the hell did you take the bottom firing buttom apart? i couldnt for the life of me take it apart with my pliers holding the inside pin

anyways here is my 8w with the sigelei 19 body fitting 18490 with fasttech nimbus clone

btw out of all my clones.. the 8w hits the best with the most consistancy.. i also shortened the throw by adding a washer on the button side. washer has to be inserted inbetween the base and the screw that contacts the negative side of the battery. if you do the washer trick, you do not have to press as hard to puff

Thank You vtechmech

I have been checking there for several days as well as other places but they just showed up. When I tried to add one to my cart it would not do anything, page just sat there. Then I saw the actual 8w switch without glue and that added to my cart OK, so I will try that and attempt to cut down the spring so it will work easier.

How in the heck did you guys get the bottom button apart? OMG it is like pushing a freight train uphill in the blizzard.

I used a table clamp and a vise grip. I sorta took out some knurling on the side of the bottom battery contact but its fine. I also replaced the spring. I was going to throw some magnets in there but the spring i replaced the original with is perfect. I flick throw to lock and unlock the safety. Ive already dropped mine a bunch of times. If i have a real one it would probably never leave the house. I like who i can pay less for good performance and the abuse factor is the huge plus.

Thanks so much. I follow wabbit's lead and ordered the no glue button.

What spring did you use?

Anyone sand down the contacts yet?

Hey Jeeves,

I hope we like the new 8w button without glue. I have not found it necessary to polish or sand the contacts, they are brass and seem to fire fine. It is that darn hard spring that is going to make my fingers like little Arnold Schwarzenegger's. I don't think the spring carries any current, so I might try a much smaller spring from a flashlight or one of my other mods. Or if there is room, try two small magnets to see if that will work.
