I dont mean holding it in your mouth, i'm talking about holding it with 2 fingers.

Right. But even that is probably never going to happen. Think about it: the center of gravity is always going to be towards the battery. That makes them very front heavy, even when the overall weight is low. No PV will ever balance between your fingers like a traditional smoke. The only way to make it mimic the balance of a traditional cigarette would be to weight the cart somehow.

Well, that might be a real good thought. And there are still some things you could do to the new Prodigy besides the stainless steel. My first thought would be coming up with a way for us to clip on a lanyard. Right now, I slip rubber o-rings over the barrel and then clip a lanyard to them, but it certainly isn't elegant! But if I didn't have lanyards, I'd lose them!

this thread makes me almost want to remake the Prodigy V1, to keep all the same specs, but just use Stainless Steel instead of aluminum ....

Perhaps I should just keep the cammed version for the Protege, and keep the Prodigy all original ....

hmmmmmmmmmm ..... decisions ........

No way!!! I'm already waiting for pre-order!!!

then complain about a simple as could be machanically pressed in mouthpiece

I'd like someone to explain exactly what that means. I think many of us with (slight) reservations might be easily swayed if we had a clear explanation of what exactly it is Steve is talking about when he refers to this new switch.

I'd do a stainless Prodigy in a heart beat ! Mine is great the way it is but there's just something about stainless......

It'd be even smaller in diameter than it is now and somehow cooler...

But I'd also buy a new redesigned mod from you. I believe in the direction your going with this deal.
Heck.... Do Both!

My post on this subject from the poll thread:

I might consider buying an improved and slightly smaller version of the current Prodigy. While I love having my V1 Prodigy, the current switches really do seem prone to being finicky, and are not great for those of us with CTS.

On the other hand, I'd order a much smaller, 5v unit with a much more consistantly reliable and long-lived activation method in a second. For me personally, that sounds like perfection
-------------

Since the current switch can sometimes behave in ways that make me grumpy, something that I know will work every time without requiring any fiddling would be fabulous. Considerably smaller would be groovy too :)

And I second this!

Well, since you're asking for opinions...My wish list isn't complicated. All I really want is a reliable device with a heavy duty switch. Mechanical sounds like the way to go. But if the next generation device doesn't use a switch, that's great as long as the thingy that turns it on and off works out of the box, as well as several years down the road.

I'm not rich. Far from it. I don't have a lot of money to spend on every new $100+ PV gizmo that comes out. Some of the folks in this forum seem to collect these gadgets like they are stamps or coins. But when I make that kind of investment, it's with the expectation that the device will work properly for several years, and be something that I can count on. If PS can meet that expectation, I really don't care if it's black or stainless, long or short, has a push button or is lip-activated. Those details are all secondary. I just need my nicotine.

I'm really hoping that PS conquers the Protege switch issue before moving on to the next big thing. And, for customers who took a leap of faith and bought first generation devices and are having switch problems...I'm trusting PS will provide us with whatever they invent to make our sizeable investments worthwhile.

Steve, is there some reason you don't select a core group of veteran vapers, and use them as a "focus group" to evaluate your prototypes? Just pick the participants carefully and make sure to have everyone involved sign non-disclosure agreements so your invention is protected.

Your engineering sounds amazing. I don't understand how the lip-activated device works, but I've seen your past work, so I am very confident that this invention will be impressive. I would gladly spend the $100+ to try it, even with the risk that you might ultimately decide not to mass-produce it.

Hear hear. Though I've expressed skepticism about it, I agree with your statement and am reserving judgment until Steve reveals more details.

I believe when this was asked before he stated he already had a core group of testers in friends and family.

I'm guessing that it would be a twist motion where your lips grasp the mouthpiece and twist slightly to activate the atty. Similarly it could be done with a push in motion, as mentioned prior. A twist actuated mouthpiece could be pretty sweet, especially with a whistle tip, but maybe not so much with a round one. Looking forward to checking it out when more details are released.
