THE OFFICIAL BLOOG "Hey Leaford, I have a question!" THREAD!!

Thanks for the input 'want to quit', sorry I was out of town and not able to reply right away. I'll try to answer your questions the best I can.

A. Yup Maxx Fusions that came with the kit.
B. Filling empty Maxx Fuision cartos with Juicy Clear and Chinese (djong or something) juices.
C. All Maxx Fusion parts and Cartomizers.
D. After my Bloog starts flashing during a draw, I put the battery back in the PCC to recharge but even a dead battery will display as having a charge left in it, so you can't trust the pcc with any accuracy. The pcc also already looks like its really old thanks to the crappy coating flaking. It seems also that I'm charging them more often now (a testament to the awesomeness of the Bloog) so I'm kinda wondering how long these will last.

Thanks for your interest in my nubeness, your proving why this site is the best information on line for all things vaping.

I don't put a battery on the charger until it flashes at the beginning of the draw. I sometimes take a loooooong drag when I'm thinking and have hit the cutoff before (it flashes then too). That's just me though. Bloog it until it won't Bloog no more, then swap to the fresh Bloog lol

Yha I put it on when it flashes but I'm finding now with my periodic drawls I'm having to swap out at about 3 hours MAX, is this normal? Seems to be decreasing daily. Also finding the burning taste comes at the end of two strong pulls. Hope I'm not burning up the cartoes. I've tried to keep them filled so as to not dry-burn them but honestly I can't put more then 5-9 drops without the juice just dripping out the hole. Don't get me wrong I love Bloogs and it's better then smoking on every level, but I wonder about the burning (what I'm I smoking) and the reliability of charge when on the road. The charger still shows two bars of charge on a flashing batt this can't be right. Maybe I picked up a faulty unit???
Thanks for your input in advance.

Hi Gubby,
What length batts are they again? It depends on your use of course, but 3 hours would be about right for average use on a 65mm or heavy use on a 78mm. Do you have another batt to compare it's performance to?

The LCD display reflects the charging state, but in terms of voltage, not percentage of charge. One bar indicates the batt is at 3.5v, 2 bars indicates it is at 3.7, and 3 bars means 4.2v, which is full. The batt only drops to 3.5v momentarily though, then goes back up to 3.7, so even a fully drained batt will usually show two bars. SO that part is normal.

And if you are topping off a carto before it is fully drained, then 9 drops would be about right, depending on how low it was.

Hi Leaford, Thanks for taking an interest. :)

I'm not sure the batt's I have, they came with the kit I bought from HappyVapour here in Canada. The MaxX Fusion box came with two batts, 5 empty cartos and the pcc. I have no problem spending money on quality and the money I've saved on analogs already has more then paid for what I've spent. Are there bigger batts I can buy or something? I'm currently without because for some reason or another both of my batts are dead (even though I always have one charging) and this was my biggest fear 'going without'.

I really think this is the best product out there from what I've been able to discern form two years of research (before I decided to switch to vaping). However I really get the best drag on the third pull and that usually when I get the burnt taste. I'm new to this and realize there are probably many nuances that elude me thus far and I appreciate your (and everyone's) most valuable input.

Tell me how to get the most pleasure from your product and I'll gladly spend the money.

Bloog has 3 sizes of batteries: 65mm, 78mm, and 102mm, the longer the battery, the longer it goes before needing a recharge. Your kit would have had 65's or 78's, since there currently is no PCC for the 102's. As for the burnt taste, I dunno. Is it possible you got Fusion bats instead of MaxxFusion? I don't know how to tell the difference, but I know the older Fusion batteries were not regulated the way the MaxxFusion ones are.

Bump??!!......

OK, Im very sorry guys, I have had a lot going on lately, which I will post about below.

Gubby, sorry I didn't get back to you. THat's inexcusable on my part busy or no. But AW is right about the batt length options. IIRC, you got your starter kit from HV, right? Their kits, IIRC were 65mm, with 78mm batts sold individually, so you are getting the right amount of duration for the batts you have. If you want to order 78mm batts for longer duration, they have them, and I believe they will have 102's fairly soon.

As for the cartos tasting burnt, sorry again, I actually didn't see that earlier. I have no ready explanation. You are using our batts and our liquid so the usual causes, which the MFV2 improvements were designed to correct, aren't at play. All I can guess is it is either an individual matter of taste, like maybe some component in the flavor you are picking up on, or OTOH they could be some of the rare but unavoidable bad carts. Anytime you're not happy with any MF product, please just contact your distributor's CS and ask for an exchange. I can't speak for HV, but if it were us, we would take them back for you.

Anyway, as for what I've been busy with; Some resupply items have been shipped and will be landing soon, including more accessories, more of the threaded PCCs, and 78mm accessories kits containing them for those who prefer them to the standard 78mm PCC; more RY4 cartos, and more PTs (INCLUDING the NEW regulated 3.6v PTs; a market first and totally exclusive to Bloog).

Speaking of Passthroughs, they are our next color expansion target, or might be at least. EIther that or the PCCs. What do you guys want more, new colors for PTs or for PCCs?

Shipping soon and landing next week are the first liquids!! THe labels just got in tonight and are looking beautiful! Thanks Griffin!!!

And our newest flavor, SPI (Sorry Please Ignore), having passed all the office taste tests, should be filling bottles and carts by the end of the week, and in the states by end of next week.

And I am currently making great progress with our new PCC. If no new hurdles arise, I think end of July is a reasonable goal for the first units to be available. But Murphy being a ..... and all, I'm setting August for the ETA instead. ;)

And, our EXCLUSIVE MF V2 cartomizer improvements have proven a success, based on the HUGE drop in reported burnt taste issues from users of HV power sources or High VG liquids. Nothing is ever perfect, and we still get some customers with issues, but I think it's down to the inevitable manufacture variances now (ie the rare but unavoidable bad cartos), the relevant design flaws seem to have been improved significantly.

SO, I am turning my attention to the next stage of exclusive MF improvements, and targeting the batts for improvement. I could use your feedback as always of course. WHat do you see as remaining weaknesses in the MF batt design or performance? Personally I see two things I want to improve on; I want to increase the cutoffs across the board from 5 seconds to 7 or even 10. Not that MF needs it, but some people like it and if Tim Allen taught us nothing else it's that more power is always more awesome! Second, I want to try to solve the vulnerability of auto batts to liquid damage. I can't say more yet, but I have a couple different approaches I am going to try, and see what sticks.

ALso, I am just now starting to work on the next step for Bloog product-wise, beyond MaxxFusion. I have a vision for a totally new e-cig design concept. SOme new technology, but more a repackaging of existing bits into a more systematic whole.

The center concept is to take existing technology, strip them down to their core elements, and streamline them into a new core unit from which the entire range of current e-cig designs can be incorporated into one fully integrated, interchangeable, and modular line. Imagine being able to use all your carts and batts of sizes ranging from true cig-sized (85mm long, 8mm diam or so) through KR8 size and up to big batt mods and even box mods, ALL with the same chargers, PCCs, PTs etc.

Imaging refilling accessories that making refilling almost as quick and easy as swapping a prefilled carto, and chargers and PCCs that make keeping your e-cig continuously charged nearly effortless; literally as simple as setting it down or putting it away, and which again work nearly interchangeably across the entire spectrum of size and length options.

And with modularity being one of the core concepts to the line it is nearly infinitely expandable, making it easier, faster, and cheaper to expand the possible range of features to include almost anything and everything you consumers and ECF posters have ever asked for in an e-cig, without bloating the core units into ungainly monstrosities.

AND I have definitely not forgotten my promise to amend my slacking ways around here and be my active self again on this forum. It's been too quiet here for too long. Tell you what, why don't you guys give me some ideas for picking things up around here? WHat would you like to see? More contests? Maybe some polls or e-cig related news or topical threads? Would you like to see a daily Leaford's Diary, even if it has more non-ecig stuff like life in China, or personal news, or whatever? (I mean, I don't always have daily Bloog updates to give even if I wanted to. Unless I start making things up just to screw with people. ;) )

[Bloog's lawyers would like me to state that Bloog LLC in no way endorses nor encourages screwing with people, not is it our policy to do so.]

Yes to all your suggestions. This post was great and we love hearing from you. It sounds like you are taking Bloog in the right direction. You validate what I believe in when it comes to Bloog. Our competitors may have lower prices but they don't have Leaford!

Definitely. Someone with boots on the ground who really cares about the product that's coming out. And appanrently pretty creative too. Hat's off to you, Leaford. You're definitely a major contributor to Bloog's success and quality.

...(INCLUDING the NEW regulated 3.6v PTs; a market first and totally exclusive to Bloog).

Not to be a rain-maker, but I think that a regulated 808-style PT is already out there, though I haven't heard about anyone actually having hands-on time with it yet.

Other than being regulated, will the Bloog version have any other cool features? Maybe... 3D gyroscopic mouse control? :)

(Seriously, though, I'd get me some of that.)

What do you guys want more, new colors for PTs or for PCCs?

"Guys" probably don't care much. ;) But I know a lot of customers probably do. It's got to be a bigger pain to stock-predict and manage multiple SKUs for essentially the same item beyond a few basic colors, but my guess is PCCs would be the better bet; being portable creates more "fashion accessory" potential.

And I am currently making great progress with our new PCC.

Cool! Any features/details you can share - supported battery lengths, how many cartos, that kind of thing?

WHat do you see as remaining weaknesses in the MF batt design or performance?

I think you nailed it with longer cutoffs and liquid damage. I've been thinking about playing around with some kind of breathable hydrophobic fabric or an offset inverted cone and some drain holes, but don't have any sacrificial batteries to play with. How long do these things last again...?

Beyond that, while this probably doesn't affect battery design very much, faster charging and a multi-battery charger with a long ( > two foot) power cord would be great improvements. Inductive/"power mat" charging would be phenomenal but probably would affect new battery design (though a carto-style module could provide support for "legacy" batteries, it might also be prone to getting lost without a tether of some kind).

I have a vision for a totally new e-cig design concept...

Go on... ;)

The center concept is to take existing technology...streamline them... into one fully integrated, interchangeable, and modular line. ...

Interesting ideas, all. These tidbits are enticing but the lack of detail is unsatisfying. :) Tell us more (when you can)!

Imaging refilling accessories that making refilling almost as quick and easy as swapping a prefilled carto...

That would be very cool. I had a third idea during the "blind refill" thing but it involved building something kind of involved... and there was also the "not enough time to design and prototype to see why it won't work" thing. Maybe when all the other fires are out. ...

Lots of other cool ideas in the rest of that, too. Looking forward to seeing what comes of it!

Thanks Leaford.

For my burning, I believe I had a few bad cartos because I still have one out of the pack that works. Unfortunately HV doesn't warranty cartos because their 'disposable' but I bought another starter kit (the smaller MAX kit to augment my current pcc kit) with the big 120mm(?) battery and I'm testing it today. So far the new cartoes are SO ... good! Jack at HV was awesome as usual and my kit came fast and with all the goodies I asked for, at a great price! ;)

As for the improvement suggestions I have one for the pcc: Charge Display. Is it possible to have a more accurate reading for charge status on the bats? I hate not knowing witch one will go out on me first. Also my pcc looks like it's 100 years old, are there better coatings on the horizon?

Thanks again for your input, it's nice to see how well your support your customers (fans). :)

I would rather have the PCC in more colors. I have not used a PT yet and not sure if I will get one but I would imagine more people use and would want the PCC colored.

Its hard to think of batt improvements since they do work so well. The cut off at 7 seconds would be nice. I wouldn't set it to no cut off as some suggest since I rely on it cutting off when I accidentally hit it from the wrong end... yes it activates and does not go off till the cut off lol. I also like the idea of fixing the vulnerability of auto batts to liquid damage. This would make them almost perfect! My improvement would just be standard things such as constant level of voltage thru the whole batt charge and longer lasting batts. If I could get 8 hours instead of 3-4 from a mini that would be great!

Also I recently got a aluminum drip tip and have been using it with my bloog. Let me tell you it feels so much nicer on the lips as well as less chance of getting juice in my mouth. I think you should either sell them on the site or package 1 or 2 with your kits. I know the bloog is not really for dripping but these tips just make the whole experience more pleasurable. One drawback with this is the length of my ecig is getting huge lol.

Thanks for the great ecig!

Liquid update:

Unfortunately we had a slight delay in production and did not make the Saturday shipment, but all except the new SPI flavor should leave today! The flavors again are 555, RY4, Menthol, Vanilla, and Watermelon.

Get some kamel in production, I'll buy a 2 litter soda bottle full, lol... =) I love the 555 though so thats fine too, however i noticed in my last batch, they have all had a mentholish aftertaste. I am not sure why, but I'm not complaining it is still good.
