I hear what you are saying Partspro and this tells me that you have some good experience under your belt. I also agree about building on the big deck. Mine work for me as well but, just like the Kayfuns, a lot of people have problems with them. I know of one family member that tried and tried and even with all of our help just couldn't find their happy place with the kayfun. They ultimately just gave up and ended up going in a completely different direction.
If you can wick a kayfun and get it to work right, you can wick a Lemo without a problem. I have five genuine Kayfuns and 3 Russians including a new 2.0 and I do not have a problem with any of them. I started using Kayfuns on my first high end mods. ( a pair of Provari 2.5's) When I purchased my first kayfun I was new to the rebuilding game and my first one gave me fits as well until I figured it out. The same would apply to the Lemo.
As the old saying goes, what works well for one does not necessarily mean it will work well for others.![]()
And I certainly agree with that!
But, I would also consider this a far easier unit to build than many of the other units on the market today.
For someone just starting with RTAs, I would consider a Drop as a fine place to start. Easy to build, easy to wick, cheap and a ton of info and help here on ECF.
