YES!!!! I can find you! Now...I have to find a plane ticket. That might be harder than finding you.

Well, if you ever do find that ticket and come this way, make sure to PM me. My wife and I will be happy to take you out to a nice dinner before you shoot me...:)

That looks great, Newportlocal! :) I really want to learn how to do this (build a coil) one day! I've checked out some video's but I'm gonna hafta find step-by-step instructions for building.

Don't be afraid the water is nice. Just jump in. This was just wrapped on a mini screwdriver. It is easier than you think. Wish I hadn't waited so long to get into rebuilding myself. :)

Lynn, the Erikoenigin is a bit of a different animal. If you were to place wicking into the juice channels of the Lemo it would more than likely be a sure case of the dry hits.( note that the channels on the Erikonenigin are deep enough to still allow liquid to get to the wick and coil) The Lemo is much like a Kayfun in that the liquid has to travel up the channels to get to the wick. The channels should be left clear of wicking and also should be visible from the top once the chimney is in place Here's a few photos of my Lemo build that I posted before. The only change I made to it was to dump the long and bent in coil legs for the more traditional Kayfun style. I've also raised the coil a bit more off of the deck after the first re-wick.

The coil......

John, when you build a Kayfun, do you have the coil at an angle like you do in the Lemo?

Generally yes. Why? Read here...;) http://www.svoemesto.de/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Kayfun-Lite-User_Manual_EN-V1.0.pdf

Edit: As a matter of fact the link posted above is a good read for anyone having problems with most RTA's. Scroll down to "Principles of operation" for some excellent info on how things generally work.

I have not run across that manual John, thank you very much. A very interesting read, I enjoyed it a bunch. :) You answered "generally yes." What would be the reasoning for not building it at an angle?

My latest .6 ohm build for the Erlkoenigin.

Ah ... Now I see where I went wrong. Okey dokey, try again in the morning :). Thanks for posting these!

And thanks, John, for posting the link. On my way to read, now.

Y'all are awesome.

There's more than one way to skin a cat...;)

Ok, so this is my build with Rayon in the Lemo. This works well consistently for me. 27 gauge, 3mm,6 wraps,1.1 ohm spaced.
I cut about 1-1/2 inches of Rayon. Then peel off about 1/3 of it.

Then roll it between my hands til it looks like this:

Then insert it into the coil. At this point it is already getting tight in the coil, with Rayon, tighter is way better. If you wicked cotton this tight you would choke it.

To get it the rest of the way through the coil, I grab the wick with both hands and stretch it like a rubber band. This thins it enough to get it through. When released it expands to fill the coil.

I cut at an angle, when the cutter is placed like this, at the angle, the wick rests on the deck without hanging over the edge.

The cut wick:

Place the lower chimney on it and use a toothpick or tiny screwdriver to fluff the wick to the edges

Now this I tried from a post on the big Lemo thread. Those little scraps of Rayon work great for making a bridge between the wicks, just make sure they are tucked all the way out to the chimney.
