How do you get the post out to reseat it?

Watching the video now.

Pry up on the seal over the metal post. I used one of the needles that came in the Phx box. I used a glasses screw driver by sticking it in the hole and rocking it gently then took a tweezers and pulled it out.

I got it, just expected it to come out easier after watching bad tap it on the table and it came out in the video. I needed pliers.

It didn't fix the dry hits I was getting on that one though as many have reported. When reseating the post are we doing anything else? Fluff the tiny wick? adjust the coil? I'm afraid to mess witht he wick and make it worse. It's only one cart but, I'm want to figure out what to do when I run into another.

Just a note to update.
Hubby and I both turned our VV boxes down to 3.7 and the vape is very, very nice with he 1.5ml 2.6-2.8
A couple dry hits occasionally at 4.0 V but awesome at 3.7.
I've refilled mine twice (plus the initial fill) he took 2 to work. So far no leaks (love this)

I'm gonna try some different flavors today.
I love the way I can taste the nuances of the flavors. I've been using regular 808 and 510 cartos with filler for over a year now and the phoenix really brings out the flavors that were muted by the filler in the others.

If these last well, I'm gonna buy a half boatload.

Thank you GV for all the work on these. It seems to have really paid off.

how exactly are you reseating the post? Just pulling it off and putting it back on again? what does this do?

Again, I have 75% VG in one where I pulled up the post so its dangling off the base almost, and I'm getting successive perfect hits (I'm on 30 now). Trying to do this while the carto is already full of course results in a slow constant flood, but if you do it before the fill it seems to work. Push it in a little, it stops working.

@Lord Davon: would you be so kind as to elaborate on what you did with those wicks? I've also had the experience with fluxos that thinner/sheared/fluffed wicks work better, kind of counter intuitive I guess but it works

On all 4 of mine that I have openned the wick is fluffed up so that the wick ends were above the coil. I am guessing that this helps keep the juice from flodding the coil. You can push the wick ends down a bit/flatten the wick ends which should improve the wicking with a high VG juice. I didn't have to do this on the 4 I tried because just reseating the metal post did the trick.

I'm on my third fill of the 70pg/30vg chocolate mix. Still wicking very well, has great flavor and absolutely no dry hits at all. The 50/50 caramel mix is still giving me problems and I'm still having to do a primer puff every 3 hits or so to keep from getting a dry hit.

My only complaint so far is that the 1.5mL just doesn't hold enough .... And I'm not going to drag a bottle and syringe with me to refill while I'm out and about.

I hope the 3ml's I originally ordered get here soon - I think that will solve everything for me. If the 3ml's vape as good as the 1.5's I will be in heaven ... And will have finally found a decent no filler carto for my kGo's!

Bad - have you worked it out with the manufacturer to just get the "tank" porrtion of the 3mL so we can re-use the sleeves and caps?

Broke out a higher ohm phoenix, preemptively reset the stem with a tiny gap more than factory. Using 50/50 from vaporbomb, clear juice. 4.2v on a provari, reading 2.9 ohms Chain vaping (tablet almost auto corrected to raping... Added vaping to dictionary) like a champ. Not a dry wick in the house. No leaking yet!!! Phoenix FTW. I am going to give a pack to a friend who hates modding and needles but, he'll have to deal with the needle. These things really are good. Just good vaping. I'll probably give him the higher ohm, no VV. They seem to be dry out of the box for 3.7v on the lower ohm. After resetting the stem, they're great and that's fine with me. I've only tried 2 of them though. Mostly using the Viva personally.

So that worked for you as well dead guy...pretty good

So what's the point of re seating the post? What's supposed to change?

Bad: do you think too little wick or too much wick might be the issue ?

I'm gonna try pushing the wicks down instead of pulling the post up later to see if it has the same effect

so your happy deadguy, im gonna cry, i dont believe it

LOL, very happy man. Thanks for the gifts as well. The viva heads could use some tweaking saw that pic of the coil heating up below the wick, seems like that may be the problem. Mine is vaping well but has a small undertone of dry wick. That could explain it. The bottom part of the coil is burning liquid (overheating) causing a slight bad taste while the wick is vaporizing???

Curious to take mine apart now but I need to run some errands. The phoenix performs better than the viva but, they both still work well. Just happy we don't have to deal with MiT any more. The tubes for the ce2 are still better, I cracked one of my phoenix whilst messing around with it. My fault though. Awesome stuff man. Thanks for working so hard to get these to us.

Yes worked great. I was getting dry hits every 3 or 4 puffs. Moved the stem up a tiny bit to allow the juice to get to the wick a little better. Chain vaping now. NO dry hits, NO flooding. So much better than the supremes. If I could only find a way to put the CE2 tubes on the Phoenix....... Not a big deal though. Had these things in my pocket on my PV at work all day and no damage. I cracked the top of one because I lack finesse. It is still usable, tiny crack on the top from slipping with pliers.

Best vape since I quit analogs, 2.8 ohm phoenix at 4.2v on a provari with 50/50 colorless juice, good stuff.

I'm actually going to stop at the hardware store and get a new pair of pliers to give my buddy so he can't complain he doesn't have the tools to get these working if they're hitting a bit dry. He is mod resistant. I think he can handle pulling the post up 1/10 of an inch.

I'm glad to hear it!

Yes lifting the post def works some magic, but I still haven't found the ideal amount of lift I still get better wicking and my get flooding. The pic I posted is about 90% right. Just too leaky.

So I'll be annoying and ask this again...those who just reseat the post flush (in contrast to dead guy and myself) what are you changig exactly? Why does this work?

here is my best guess. i have only had one apart but when i went to put the center tube back in it didnt feel like it wanted to go. i took the tube off so i could see what was going on and it looks like after i took the center out the wick fanned out a bit and when i was putting the center back all the wick material was not staying in the slots but some was getting pushed in and some was getting caught between the tube and base making it hard to put back. i tried to pinch the wicks into the cutouts and put the post on. cant try it yet though cuz the tube is cracked lol
perhaps reseating the tube is changing how much wick ends up in the hole....

can you dumb down the whole "resetting the post-thing"? explain it step by step as simply as you can.

OK, done this to 2 of them so far. Great vape, flavor, no leaking, no dry hits.
1) remove mouth piece, use a paperclip

2) remove inner silicone seal that is contacting the stem (pay attention to the orientation, concave part faces mouth piece) used a paperclip in the fill hole.

3) use small pliers to pull the stem up about 1/10 of an inch

4) replace seal with in proper direction.

5) chain vape

modded is on the left, factory is on the right:

Cool?

Here's another pic if you can't see that:

Mello there are two things going on

1) setting the post HiGHER as in my pic, scroll back

2) reseating the post which no one seems to have an explanation of (it's purpose)

Just saw your pic, looks like you set the stem a tiny bit higher than I did, maybe just push it down a tiny bit. Mine doesn't leak at all and vapes great.

Also, you must have a nice camera! My macro can't get that close. Took 18 pics with different settings, the 2 I posted were the best I could get.

Well after reading a bit yesterday i was in no hurry to run to the post office so i waited till a coupple hours ago (mistake cause i couldn't sleep Ha Ha) I took a 2.4 - 2.6 right out of the box and proceeded to fill it as is. filled with 80pg/20vg and got a few hits of primer then the flavor started happen (banana belgian waffle :) ) oh so good, only about a half mil through it but so far results are good.

Edit to say im using it on a KGO
