Thanx for the "O" ring size Big Screen. I split my first tube because the drip tip fit too tight. Banging it on the table to get the center piece out for a clean/dry burn may not have helped much either. The only other problem I'm having is needing to use an 808/510 adaptor that I wish wasn't there lol. I really like my 808 autos and these work well on them. Probably not enough of us to get them in 808. Just the same few of us whinning over and over lol.

Big Screen, where do the air bubbles who up when you do this? Want to know where to look, they can be sneaky

And which O ring are you replacing?

Anywhere around the seal. If you see air bubbles while pulling juice out while still inverted, there is an air leak. Found a hairline crack in a tube this way that I couldn't see readily. Old eyes dude Only air leak this won't show is the fill hole itself. .

O-ring for 510 drip tips. Most of, in fact all off mine are to tight with the normal 510 o-ring. I've since replaced them with 1/8'IDx1/4"OD/1/16" rings from Home Depot. They are very tight to put on the drip tip, but because they are stretched, they wind up a tad thinner than a normal o-ring.

A kgo big bore cone works real good.

Am I missing something here? Even when I get a cone to fit over a phoenix or fluxo the clearo sticks out the top another inch and looks silly. I'm using the KGO big bore cones that came with my kit. Is there anything that works/looks better? I love the flavor from fluxos and phoenix much better than a stardust type. But I like the clean style look of the KGO with matching cone. Would love to figure out a way to make these all work and look good together.

Why cant other tips be used? I use the tip from my vivi nova.

on the xl & 3ml you can use any drip tip oh i forgot to mention i did have one die very early and the wick area looked weird, but this should all be watched even more carefully for us in our new order with the dry cartos

My bad, trevor... and bad...

I went back and checked, the first few (a mix of SS and Delrin), are much too tight on my XLs. But most of the other delrin tips I have fit. Sorry I posted about tips not fitting before I tried more of them. I did know any tip fit OK on the larger Phoenix.

Let me also repeat, what I said in the my original post as "For my working ones, they are pretty good" and way many more people are have a positive experience with them than my very small sample that had a couple issues. This is a good product, but you don't need me to say that, enough others already have.

OK... So I think I figured out the basics to the xl's leaking out of the base... As you carry these on your PV the plastic tube gets wiggled up a bit off the connector. This pushes the stem up, causing the hole for the wick to be big enough on both sides to lose the vacuum in the tube. One wick hole allows air in when they get too big and one allows juice the other way. Happened to me, couldn't figure out why it started leaking randomly, and slowly. Realized the plastic tube worked it's way up a bit and took the seal and post with it.

2.6-2.8 would actually be a bit cooler. I know there is a lot to read, but, this thread has a bunch of great tweaks and mods for the phoenix line. Adjust the stem, trim the wicks, thin the wicks etc.

Got mine today...ordered the 2.4-2.6 and find that they're much cooler than the 2.6-2.8 CE2's I normally get! I ordered the 2.4-2.6 cause I wanted a warmer hit! Not happy about this!

Wicks?...in the Phoenix? Are they hidden cause I don't see any wicks?

Other issue I am not happy about is way too much air flow, even with the eGo cone on! Popped the Phoenix on an old stick 510, and air flow is terrible too....entirely too much!

Any suggestions please?

I use a ring I cut from a condom to adjust the airflow For the ones I find airy.

Funny thing is most times, I don't use this anymore. I've gotten used to the draw.

Thanks Big Screen....so, this airflow IS common with the Phoenix's? I didn't expect this as I've read several earlier posts that it works like a charm, right out of the box, with no modding necessary! This is what I was hoping for! :(

I'm very happy with mine and beleive they work right out of the box :) don't beleive the amount of air flow is in the product descriptions. for a tighter draw i can recomend using a KGO big bore cone as i have done so and can say it will tighten up the draw.

This all of course is if you are speeking of the phoenix XL's 1.5 mil, hope you find what works for you.

Thanks hd, and yes, I have the XL's (1.5 ml)! I'm using the fatter cone that fits over the newer CE2's...too much airflow!....tried a standard size cone....no air flow! I don't want to spend anymore money on a cone that may or may not work for me!

But this still doesn't help because the drag is cooler, and it's supposed to be warmer! That's why I ordered the 2.4-2.6's!

All in all, I'm not happy....NOT what I expected!

A cone isnt going to help. Its not the draw that limits the heat its the metal tube. The heated vapor down at the coil is traveling up a metal tube that is surrounded by a liquid. A perfect heatsink. The heat is transfering to the tube and the liquid is absorbing the heat. There really isnt anything you can do to warm up the vapor on these by any sizable amount.

It's in the nature of a bottom coil cartomizer that the vapor will always be warmer. I prefer the warmth you get from a top coil, and hopefully soon the new top coil Phoenix will be arriving.

Here is my fix for an airy draw on a cartomizer. Cut a 1/8" piece of Teflon Plumbing Tape, roll it into a small ball. Using a needle press it in to one of the air holes on the battery connector. Don't push it in completely but more or less enough to cover the whole. If later on the draw becomes too tight you can then take it out.
