Can you refill a phoenix XL that is already half filled with any issue?

if you turn it upside down for a while and wait till all the juice drains away from the wicks you can top it off but you might get a little leaking. If you dont wait for all the juice to drain away from the wicks it will leak like crazy. The air thats in the half filled tank needs to go somewhere as your filling. The only place it can go is through the wicks and out the center post. So if there is juice inbetween it and freedom, the juice is going to get pushed out.

so far when I've caused leaking this way it's stopped on the TANKS and all but one XL, but you are right, don't chance it, make sure most of the juice has drained out of the coil before adding juice.

I received 2 of these Phoenix and I just have to say, they are the best thing on the market today, head and shoulders above anything else I have ever tried. It constantly and reliably delivers a strong, well wicked hit each and every time you draw, fill after fill, chain vape to your hearts content. Great flavor, lots of vapor, it is just perfect. It cleans in a snap and works as good as new afterwards. No leaks, period, no dry hits unless it needs cleaning, and it's easily primed by gently squeezing the tube in case you just need to get through that last fill before cleaning again. This thing is hands down an incredible piece of technology, it is everything the Sapphire tried to be but wasn't, I see no need to buy/use anything else besides Phoenix ever again. This is my holy grail.

I will say I think a disservice to users has been done on this thread to advocate filling it all the way. People need proper information on use or else they will make common user errors and mistakenly ditch the product, which would be a serious shame in the case of the Phoenix. It needs a vacuum to function properly and filling only to the line below the wick and no further is very important to create that vacuum. There must be an air pocket in there. You can fill it to the line or less and it works just fine, perfectly even. If you try to fill it all the way it will dry hit unless you prime it by squeezing.

I wish GotVapes would include more user information on their site for products like this because not everyone will bother to come here and read up on these threads, and you really have to in order to use the products. 100+ pages is a lot to go through for your average recent non-smoker. Most people are not tech-inclined and will not bother to fiddle with things. With Phoenix, they don't have to, they just need a couple user-friendly tips on proper fill and basic cleaning. If GotVapes had info on their site, it would be useful for newbies trying to quit, and that's what it's all about. Kick it to Big Tobacco, GotVapes, but you have to hit them where it hurts, Mr. and Mrs. Blue Collar Average Joe.

Best of luck, what you're doing for the vaping community and for tobacco users everywhere is commendable. Fantastic product.

added bold to section that I thought was excellent point and very good advice - danno

Again, in the 3ml bigger Phoenix, I'm notching the upper tube at the bottom like I did from the early beginning, then running a 2ml thick wick across the coil and bending it upward into the tank. This is giving me great flavor, no flooding, and plumes of great tasting vapor fill after fill, see pics below =

Figured out how to do this. I turn my PV upside down and shake it to get all the juice into the top part. I then vape it, still upside down, until I get a dry hit. Then fill like normal, still upside down. No leaking! Just ready to go home and wanted a full CE3 for the road:)

Don't have any old ones that are broken/not working yet. I take good care of my clearos and haven't been vaping for so long (6 weeks I think)

I will ask GotVapes on my next order to send me some, thanks for the info:)

very nice dude! tell me about the notching?

I'm pretty sure I did this exact thing, and had a disaster. not a leak, but the coil just wouldn't stop flooding/dry hit/flooding/dry hit back and forth.

But I'll try again, just tell me what kind of notch to put in. I have one that already is notched, but I don't know if its the right size
