I just googled this, and yes, nickel does oxidize.:cry::cry: Cape Cod polishing cloths will remove it however. Information also states that the brass underneath the nickel will also oxidize and has a tendency to "bubble up" through the nickel.

Ah well, I'm well stocked with polishing supplies anyway. What's one more piece to polish.....right???

Hmmm... I was assured that the old acid bath nickel plating method used for the Preciouses will stay in perfect shape for a long time. It's 0.5mm of nickel plating on them.
Are you sure that information is not about the new "improved" and "ecological" nickel platings?
The shop nickel plates car accessories and those have to survive for years in harsh environments.

Anyway the first one is still shiny and in perfect condition after almost two months. No maintenance whatsoever.

OOHHH!!! Good to know. I'm just waiting for some more input from users before I make my final decision on this one, and waiting to see what this AFS in development is all about.

That no shining variable is a huge plus for me. There is a product out there that can be used to coat aluminum mods so they never need cleaning:

https://www.everbritecoatings.com/cart/

I'll be following this thread for a bit to see what comes about.

It would indead be very hard for brass or anything for that matter to bubble up with 0.5mm of nickel applied! 8-o

Welcome - The Precious Heres everything u need to know
Thank you, Chucklehead. I guess my questions aren't so much about The Precious itself but about the batteries used. (I'm sounding more and more stupid ) What is the difference between the three sizes of batteries? And what makes them better than my KR808 battery? Besides aesthetics, I don't understand what makes a mod better than what I have.

Obviously I don't need one if I'm this ignorant.

But, still, I want to understand. And tell me if I have this straight...it's threaded for a 510 atty (any 510 atty? or does it have to be some special kind?) and there's an adapter so that a 910 will fit?

While I am not Chucklehead, I have been called that before...

The batteries vary in size. They have the same full charge output, 3.7 volts. Larger battery = longer charge and full or near full voltage output. Without going into the physics of batteries, go simple. If the batteries are the same type, Lithium Ion in this case, then a larger battery will hold a charge longer during use. See? It can be simple.

Yes, a 510 atty, any 510 atty will work. The real question is which resistance will work best? Well, now this is where this mod gets interesting because you can vary the current by how much you cover the switch pad. So a high resistance atty could take less current to vape the same as a low resistance atty. It seems possible with this little beauty to vary your touch to get the best performance out of whatever atty you put on it.

OK, there will be a learning curve, but I'm rather anxious for class to start...

I would suggest the big Precious for these reasons. It gives you the option of using a 18650 battery at 3.7vs ! Now the 18650 battery has the highest Mah ratings ! MAHS >meaning amout of storage ! Look at it like a gas tank this is a big one:pShould last the average vaper all day and then some. Also if you decide to do 6vs you can stack protected cr123 3v batteries! And only the Big Precious has a automatic feed system in the works! And the digital switch will last much longer than anything that has been offered before with the least amount of resistance! Hope that helps! DAM IS IT HERE YET:confused::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil:

Hoosier and Chucklehead, you guys are great! Thank you for 'splaining batteries to me. I knew there was something I was missing because all I could see was that the small Precious was cute. But even I can understand that more storage=longer use=better. (See? She can be taught!:p)

And I didn't understand that all three were 3.7volts. Got it. :D

Y'all lost me with the low/high resistance and getting 6volts but that's okay because I know a heckuva lot more now than I did this morning. Thank you again!:)

Received my Precious this afternoon and yes I think it lives up to all it's hype. Very nice solid feel to it and very shiny with the nickel finish, the button is very sensitive and responds instantly to the slightest touch. So far so good, I'm at work right now so only using the 6 volt option with 2 Tenergy 123 batteries, I'll compare it to an 18650 with a LR atomizer when I get home. Vapes very well with reg 510 at 6 volt, no complaints here, sitting here admiring it....

I bit the bullet and bought a precious M today around 2PM CST. I am curious as to how long it will take to arrive now though. PV waits... poor mail persons
Sweet:pMight not be as long as the wait for the L Precious! Most people have ordered the L. I do know that Casaer makes/test then sends you a invioce ! So its one at at time! How many a day i don't know:confused: But i like the fact that they are not mass produced! Keep us informed;)
