Scubabatdan, thanks for those pictures. Could you please provide a parts list for the three pieces in your picture? I'm purchasing these from Radio Shack,

Panel-Mount RCA Phono Jack (4-Pack)
Panel-Mount RCA Phono Jack (4-Pack) - RadioShack.com

Phono (RCA-Type) Plug (2-Pack)
Phono (RCA-Type) Plug (2-Pack) - RadioShack.com

I don't see where to get that little barrel that you're using though between the RCA jack and the 901 connector. Is that already on the part and you're just pulling it off? I'm new to this, so please forgive me if it's an absurd question, I'm just trying to understand this.

I want to make an 801 adapter. Altsmoke.com sells 801 connectors. Will I be able to use these 801 battery connectors or will I be missing any parts?

AltSmoke | Personal Vaporizer 801 Battery Thread - Mod Shop (they also sell 501 and 901 threads)

The second link is the connector I am using in your post. The front part unscrews and you cut the remaining piece down to .4" in length. Then press in an 901 (pictured) or an 801 into the end without threads. Then screw the front rca jack back ito place. I use a dab of JB weld when I press the 801/901 connector in place.

Note: For an 801 you will have to taper the end of the barrel some, I will post a pic of one tommarow.

Thats it.
Dan

Thanks a lot for the tips Dan, I am definitely going to try this mod out.

Here are the pics of the 801 connector I made:

You have to bevel it a little at the end or it will not fit into the atty, since the atta has the plastic end that covers the recessed threads.
Hope this helps

I have several more pics to post, but it seems i exceeded my quota?

OK, i edited and now it allowed me to upload more pics for some reason...

You can connect any atomizer to any power source mod with this adapters.

I don't see any mention in this thread of how this could power a 501 atty. Ayone know what kind of connector is needed to connect a home made battery pack to a 501 atty?

Well you will need the battery connector from a 501 battery, and then just make the adapter as shown above, just replace the 901/801 battery connector with the 501. The diameter should be the same for the tube. I do not have one so I can not measure it out for you. If someone wants to send me a 501 battery connector I can make the PVMA adapter, post the pics and then send them the completed adapter back. I will do this for the first person that sends me one. I am not doing a 100 over the next six months LOL.

The PVMA takes the battery connector and puts in an RCA jack. Each type of atomizer would have it's own.

So, you end up with ONE battery box and connectors for 401/510/801/901/etc instead of separate battery boxes for each atomizer type.

I imagine you jumped on Dan's offer, but I believe a 401 atty connector will work too if you have one. Most of the connectors are just flipped versions. I know I have way more dead attys than batts. 901 & 4081, 401 & 510. You just have to make sure your atty can breathe.

LOL nope no has jumped on my offer LOL I figure my PM box would be full, but it still stands if any one wants a 401 or 501 I will do both so we can get pics posted. Just PM me and I will give you my address. Create it document it and send it back fully assembled in a RCA housing.

Nick76, What kind of charger is that??
That's nice. and a question for all:
Is there any difference in charging circuitry, or just the same guts and different threads. I was going to wire all my chargers to one plug, but this might be a better option, if I can charge all my different batteries in on unit, even if I have to have different slots/threads.

First i wanna say thank you to Warp1900 very much for the idea of RCA adaptor !! Here is my first work of 2 USB power passthrough with RCA + switch, and this can be use for any of my future batt box Mod.
Nick

Excellent Idea putting a switch into the RCA adapter, this will make it eaier to make the battery cases if a switch is not needed to be incooporated. Are those micro tactile switches from rat shack? The small square ones?

Thanks
Dan

Yes Dan, most of the part switches i use from Rat Shack.

***The charger is Mega charger from TW that can charge any JoyeTECC Batts(not just 510) indepently on each port, output is 150ma at 4.2V. I think it can charge other kind of batt if you can make a adapter to it.
Nick.

I don't think those tactile switches will actually last carrying the current of an atty on them. The things were only designed to carry 50ma at 12vdc. If your atty is 3.5 ohm exactly to get the actual 5v to it you would have to be pulling ~1.42 amps thru that switch, which you will only get 500ma off of an usb port. Though putting 500ma on something designed to do 50ma is a lot for that switch imo. Though rat shack has been known to put some bogus ratings on their parts. I'd like too know how well those hold up.

all of my 510 attys are 2.4-2.8 ohms and yes the tactile switch rated only 50ma but i tested it with good performance before put thing together. It's working fine for almost a week now even thru PC USB , but worked best with 1000ma USB wall adapter. I do not see any different between the 2 adapters i made ( the other switch rates 125V 3A) by vaping or multimeter test.

***Hey Warp1900 ! i posted my work here cuz i learned this from you, just a contribution.
I do not want to hijack your threat! just want to say thank you!

Thats kool, I know like this switch DPDT 0.5-Amp Hobby-Type Knife Switch - RadioShack.com will carry alot more than they say it will. So I don't know how accurate those ratings are. Though I see so many rat shack burnt up switches, I'm weary of using them on anything more than a middle school's kid science experiment.

Hey, is anyone selling these adapters? I managed to mod an 801 atty connector to a female RCA, but I'm having a heck of a time putting together a male RCA and an 801 battery connector to attach my attys. I'm not sure why, since the instructions are very clear, but I've gone through the pack of RCA males, and ruined my last 801 battery connector in the process. I would like to get a couple sets of nicely finished ones. If someone is interested, please PM me with your price including shipping to San Jose, CA?

One last request - I'm interested in an adapter for my M401 attys also. They are the best for dipping!
