It really looks like you know what your doing.
I use a mod, called the copper right now.
I run it off of 6 volts.
I like the rca cable Idea alot.
What do you think is the best voltage, and batteries to use.
like i said, i use 6 volts, ultra fires,
I always am looking for the best voltage, and vape mod.
Do you think any of your ideas, would be better than what im currently using.
If so, id like to try.

Got my 801 connectors.... Now it's on! Gonna finish up my 5v 2xAA box mod, just need the RCA plugs and should be good to goGonna do a 6v w/o a regulator, and may make one that will take some small e-cigar batteries too.

What can I say to someone using the copper?
In my opinion that is the smartest/best switch system of all.
Personally my favorite is 5V, which I get wilt 2 x 3.7v batteries and a regulator, unfortunately , I don't know of a way of doing it on the copper.
6 volts is great but a little nasty on the atomizers, 3.7v works great also and when I'm out and about that is what I use.
The only better thing the RCA system could do for you is allow you to plug any atomizer to your copper or to any other mod you might have.
I am currently working on an integrated switch in the RCA adapters that should work like the one on the copper, but trust me, it is not easy since they are so small, but still think it is possible.

I tried the edobit deals, but I cannot get mine to work fully.
I mean they work, but its like they dont dish out enough juice for me or something.

Please, tell me how you did this. I have 3 510 battery ends that I just received and would like to do this but don't see how they work like the others. I have read this thread twice and still don't see how the 510 can work since it is reverse from everything else.

The reason I wandered in is because I have been shopping for new 510 attys to use w/a Prodigy and I was trying to figure out if there was another atty I could use. Seems like I read somewhere that a 901 might be interchangeable? But then again I know PS sells adaptors for the 901, but if they're interchangeable, why would I need that? Anyway, it's always way cooler to figure it out on your own and on the cheap. Plus, that leave more $$ to stock up on juice.
Then I was dazzled by all the pretty colors and connectors and I'm wondering if there's something here that might work?
So, if I'm completely misunderstanding what all this stuff is, just show me the door...no worries.

Opus - the threading on the atomizer doesn't matter - it still sits in the shell of the RCA plug like any other atomizer would. Break off the "T" shaped conductor on the jack so that all you're left with is the center conductor. The shell of the RCA plug makes the negative connection and the center conductor of the plug itself makes the positive.
Cut off the non-threaded end of the RCA shell. File flat/smooth. All you should have left is the very center conductor sticking up. Press the atomizer down into the shell and check for continuity. Once you have the length right to make good contact (you should have a little of the knurled ring showing for a 510 - cut about halfway down the knurled ring and file to fit), glue the atomizer in place and you're done.

Justme - from what I understand, while the 901 and 510 are of similar diameter, the thread size/pitch are not the same, so they are not directly interchangeable.
It *might* be possible to mod a prodigy with Warp's PVMA stuff, but I'm not sure I'd want to be cutting/drilling on a $140 mod.

Ughh, this is why I went into the SQL/programming side of IT work. Maybe I'll just try some good ol' soldering on the battery connectors I bought.
If you could tell me the exact RCA pieces you used from Radio Shack I just might be able to figure it out.

Well, the hardest part was actually making the RCA connector. The first one I cut too short, the second I left longer and had to sand it down. The biggest issue I ran into was getting the battery end to stay in the RCA sleeve. I ended up using a little super glue to hold it then just a touch of solder. Seems to be holding.

Elegant solution warp. I'm curious though as to why you chose RCA instead of something like jackpins or usb where the female connector could be recessed into the box.

I have not had much luck with the plastic rca's , They don't seem to stand up to my abuse long haha,but the metal connectors have revolutionized my modding experience in a great way!
I found that adding a small spring ( tiny piece cut from an ink pen spring ) makes a great solderless connection without having to worry so much about precision cuts of the metal RCA cases. However it does look nice to file the end as square as possible. I read through "most" of the posts in this thread and didn't see anything pertaining to the use of a bit of spring .
( a very small piece can be stretched to make contact)

A tip for those making a metal one, I found for the 901 connector the perfect length of the barrel is .4"
Assembled, perfect fit, and great continuity with the mutimeter:
Oh and a dab of JB Weld around the battery connectors splines and it is permanent!

What you linked looks like an OEM brass 801 connector that's either been modified, or came from a different manufacturer than Nerf's 801 connectors, which do not have the crosscuts in the unthreaded end, otherwise they look identical and it should work fine.
The RCA fitting they're starting from is a "make your own" that you would solder the cable to, and that metal sleeve comes with it (and then is cut down) and just happens to be the perfect interior diameter for 801 and 901 battery fittings. I don't have a part number or link for it.
