After reading your post, I searched for (and found) the two posts (by Scubac00da, who is presumably "Pop") containing the "explanation"---or whatever it is---on the Mom&Pop supplier thread. All I can say is that it doesn't pass the litmus test of BS. You can go on eBay and buy 15ml plastic dropper bottles in lots of 100 for 40¢ each, and that's not even wholesale. Are we to believe that M&P paid $2.49 more than they should have for empty 15ml bottles that cost 40¢ each, and are now passing on to customers the extra cost of their own screw-up? That's ridiculous. Something else is going on, and whatever it is must be really stupid.

At least Scubac00da acknowledged the obvious---that people are better off buying two 10ml bottles of the same juice rather than one 15ml bottle. As if we couldn't figure that out ourselves. At any rate, I hope M&P get their problem resolved soon and change the pricing on their web site, because just seeing that weirdness aggravates the hell out of me every time.

Lucky for us that Mom and Pop's juice is better than their business savvy.

Be nice, at least they're trying! Unlike some of the other moronic vendors like FSUSA with the weak crap they sell! M&P are my main vendors for most of my juices and when they 'oops" they fix it... fast. Ever run a startup business on a shoestring budget? You can't take some mistakes on the chin no matter what it is or how stupid.

Excrement occurs.

Back to topic...

I ordered a bottle of ReVolver PG RY4 (Revolver Electronic Cigarettes) after getting $16 in store credits. You can get the $16 by signing up for newsletter, making an account, and telling your story. But shipping options are $5 priority and a more expensive personal jet option.

So for $5 I got a 30ml bottle at 24mg. I normally vape at 18mg, so this is a bit strong for me. After just four hits I am getting a nic buzz, and beginning to wonder if they buy from BE. I can't find out after a short search of their site.

Being all PG makes this juice very thin. It takes about 20 seconds for a new carto to absorb all 30 drops. The vapor is not bad considering the lack of VG. About what you would expect. The flavors I get are vanilla and cotton candy. Almost a koolaid flavor. Sugar sweetened.

Also this tastes Chinese. I haven't found a nicquid yet from China that I really like. I don't like Keemer RY4 from Good Prophets or DeKang RY4 (or any other DeKang). They all seem to have an underlining musk. Just way back in the background, like they were filtered through dirty socks. Don't get me wrong, I am not all "buy American." But Chinese flavors do have a bit of a odd flavor to me. This juice has that same flavor.

Even with the odd taste, this juice is not bad. I will probably vape it when I need a heavy dose of nic. I would rate it in the bottom of my keeper list.

Parkes Vaping may not be my #1 favorite vendor (NiteLiteVapor gets that award), but it’s a vendor I like quite a lot. Parkes’ lines of 18650 flashlight tube mods (Shine, Diamond, and Pawz) are terrific and inexpensive, and (like all 18650 mods) accommodate different battery combinations to allow vaping at 3.7, 5, 6, or 7.4 volts. I sampled a bunch of their juices---also reasonably priced at $3 for a 6ml bottle---including RY4 and their custom RY4-variant, called PV4 (same name as PrimeVaping’s juice). All of Parkes’ liquids are custom made-to-order, so they may benefit from a bit more steeping time than the four days I’ve given them.

I purchased both juices at 24mg nic, in 70/30 PG/VG blends (base ratios are customer-specified). Both liquids have a golden-greenish tint---often an indication that Absolute was used in the tobacco base. RY4 is a lighter golden color, while PV4 is a bit darker amber.

I sampled both juices by dripping into a bonut-modified 1.6 ohm 306 atty powered by a VV ego battery running at 4.1 volts to provide about 10 watts of power.

My first draw on the RY4 said “nuttiness” to my brain. Not strong or forward nut flavor---unlike Ikenvape RY4 gold, for instance, with its strong nuttiness---but rather an “aura” of nuts, like the wrapping paper around a gift. Further draws “peeled off the paper” to reveal a completely unified core flavor carrying a slight sourness. The core mix is so seamless that I literally couldn’t identify any of the components. Rather than individual flavors of tobacco, caramel, and vanilla, this RY4 has a single core taste without a name.

This is not an RY4 that grabs me with its brilliance or deliciousness. It’s not subtle, per se, but very plain and unadorned.

Do I like ParkesVaping RY4? Some, but not much. While I do believe that thought and skill went into making it, I’m not thrilled with the end result despite those efforts, and my ranking at #45 reflects that.

-----

On to PV4, Parkes’ more custom RY4-variant. Ah, now this is more like it! Richer---much richer---with distinct flavors. Upon first draw, I get a strong hit of the signature tone of Tobacco Absolute. Not everyone loves Absolute, but I do. And it’s a one-two punch combination: Following the straight left jab of the tobacco is the knockout right hook of caramel---a dark, rich caramel. Wonderful. Takes me right back into the ball park of two of my recent favorites---Moondrop RY42 and Mom&PopVaporShop RY4. In all three of those juices, the winning formula is about Tobacco Absolute with a solid caramel and a whisp of vanilla. Mom&Pop is the sweetest---a true dessert vape---while ParkesVaping is the least sweet. All three qualify as stronger tobacco.

Because they are so similar (and darn good, at least to my taste buds), I’m ranking these three right together, with ParkesVaping PV4 at #12.

The one caveat to note is that if you don’t like Tobacco Absolute (and some people dislike it intensely), then you should ignore my praise and high rankings for all three of these juices and avoid them like the plague. You’ll be happier with an RY4 that uses a more neutral, synthetic tobacco base. Tobacco Absolute is something of an acquired taste, especially when this ultra-concentrated extract is mixed strong. If you like the exotic flavor of Absolute, however, PV4 is another stunning winner to add to your RY4 stash.

GoodProphets sells various lines of Chinese juices in re-labeled house brands. They have now added a small line of USA-made all-VG tobacco juices, of which GP4 is one of eight standard flavors.

The three 10ml bottles of GP4 I purchased are 24mg nic in an all-VG formulation that’s fairly thick, so the base is probably undiluted VG. The liquid is amber/caramel-colored, and uniform in all three bottles. Testing was done in a Boge 2.0 carto powered by a VV-eGo providing 4.1 volts for 8.4 watts of power.

GP4 strikes me as a solid, middle-of-the-pack RY4 (which is actually a compliment, since---despite the hangdude's preferences---many USA-made RY4s are less than stellar. To me, the Chineseproduce more consistent RY4s, which may mean that Chinese RY4s are simply more similar, but probably implies that the Chinese are more formulaic in their juices. By contrast, the American offerings are all over the map, from great to terrible, but perhaps that's because they're more adventurous and willing to push the envelope. To my palate, GP4 is not superlative, because nothing in the recipe mix or the individual flavoring ingredients is sufficiently extraordinary to elevate it beyond a pretty good RY4. It’s sweet, but not cloyingly so, and nicely balanced in the tobacco/caramel/vanilla elements. Performance and vapor production are very good, as expected for an all-VG juice. Flavor and throat hit are also substantial.

The bottom line, however, is that there’s simply little to distinguish GP4 from many other equally-good or better RY4s and RY4-variants. As a result, my review will be short. I like GP4, but I don’t have much to say about it, except that I paid only $4.47 for three 10ml bottles, which qualifies as dirt cheap and a heck of a deal. That was on an introductory sale, of course, but even at Good Prophets’ regular price of $3.99 for a 10ml bottle, it’s worth considering.

While not everyone will love GP4, I would think it a perfectly acceptable RY4-variant for many vapers. Flavor is good, and I could vape a lot of this without complaint. I’m ranking it at #28, right in the middle of the Big List.

You realllllly need to add Greenhouseones RY4 to the top of the list . Pm me your addy and ill send you a sample . Iv tried a bunch of RY4's now and GHO blows away all the ones iv tried even BWB's . GHO's is really toasted caramel rich with a slight cotton candy taste on the exhale . Its amazing and it smells like how i would like heaven to smell like .Its also cheaper than almost all other RY4's at under 15.00 for 60ml and they throw in a couple 10ml bottles of other juices

I'm the least of the experts, but both in my opinion. I didn't like the Dekang at first but the longer it sits the more I reach for it. I just ordered a big bottle of the HC RY4 2 days ago, I love it (assuming it is the same juice that was in the freebie bottle from them last month). I don't find either of them very sweet, just very "tobaccoie" with some sort of tiny sweet hint. You may have different tastes of course, naturally, but I don't think you can go wrong trying either of them! Good luck!

sophie,

The Dekang is the RY4 I liked so much and reviewed very favorably with a Top 10 ranking. Mine was the 50ml bottle in 26mg, but the 30ml/11mg is most likely the same recipe (there is a slight uncertainty about that).

HealthCabin's "house brand" HC RY4 hasn't been available for many months and was reintroduced by HealthCabin just this past week. I ordered some of the flavoring concentrate for the HC RY4, but---since I always choose the cheaper slow shipping option from China---it's not here yet. I'll mix up a bottle and review it as soon as it arrives.

You may have already made your choice and placed an order, but if not---why not get both? A 20ml or 30ml bottle of Dekang and a 10ml bottle of HC. Or whatever combination you like. Won't set back your wallet much more, and you'll cover all the bases.

I really like both Dekang and HC RY4, was waiting for the HC to come back in stock, the mixer had injured one of her hand but is back again.

Yesterday I receive a sample pack from Halo and the Tribeca was included, When I opened the Tribeca I was in shock. That smell bring back my memory to 2009 and 2010 when my room was filled with that smell of such a wonderful RY4. I also receive a pack of G6 Tribeca cartos so I give it a try and not only the smell but the flavor is almost the same. I still have a pack of 5 808 cartos of RY4 from Eastmall (2009) and they smell the same as the cartos from Halo Tribeca. Wow to me the Tribeca is my new RY4 Favorite.

I know everyone is diffrent and flavors are sugestive but tribeca to me is not a ry4 variant but a true ry4 and a dessert one.

To Bill, Thanks for all your dedication with the RY4.

Nandy,

My brain-damage is the problem. Here's an excerpt from my post #877 on October 30th:

I've been using the word "variant" in two separate contexts with different meanings. I use the term "RY4-variant" to describe juices that are not named RY4 but taste like RY4s, and thus deserve to be included on the Big List. I also named one of the group categories "Variant (non-typical)," but that has a different meaning. It means an RY4 or RY4-variant that is unusual, distinctive, or even deviant (LOL). So, from now on I'll change the name of that Category Group to "Distinctive (non-typical)" to avoid confusion.

To compound my error, I forgot to change the name of the Category Group from "Variant" to "Distinctive" in the most recent update. My bad. I'll change it next time, but I'll keep Tribeca in that category because Halo's "signature" base flavor is definitely distinctive and non-typical.

For me, the bottom line is that a "true" RY4 should be named RY4. LOL. Anyway, it's wonderful that you're in juice heaven with Tribeca.

"A rose by any other name would smell as sweet."

Ceegary,

I thought of that quote when I was writing my post.

Turns out that brain researchers have discovered that human brains differ from other mammals and higher vertebrates in that our brains are hard-wired for language. The human brain links objects to the word or words used to identify them. When you think or say the word "tree," the brain automatically refers to its neural database of every learned quality associated with trees---shapes, colors, textures, leaves, branches, trunks, etc. This happens in micro-seconds and beneath the threshold of our awareness.

When we don't have a word name for an object or associate the wrong name with the object, the brain gets confused. So, yes---"A rose by any other name would smell as sweet," but we wouldn't know what the smell was other than sweet. We might think "sugar," but we wouldn't recognize the smell as a rose.

So, if you'd never vaped an RY4 nor heard the acronym RY4 and thus didn't associate that word with any flavor, your brain would assume ("learn") that Tribeca tasted like... Tribeca, not RY4.

This is apparently one of main reasons that infants and young children sleep so much, because their brains are working overtime to build that complex relational database that organizes reality by associating words with sensory perceptions, literally "making sense" of the world, presumably to improve an individual's chances of survival and reproduction.

I do agree with the power of linguistics but disagree that it would only smell sweet. I interpret the bard's meaning of sweet as rose-sweet. However, when I'm tasting juices the names are secondary to me. When I first met Tribecca I said to myself, "Hmm, this is an RY4. Bacco..check. Caramel.. check. Vanilla...check. However, when I tasted FSUSA RY4, I said to myself; "Hmm, I like it but I wouldn't classify this as an RY4". I know it's arguable but I still don't. Smarter to call a juice Wyatt Earp because how can you argue with that?

I think it tastes like an RY4 it is.

Cee,

All that really matters is to find the juices we love and then vape away happily.

I just received 10ml bottles of RYO Tobacco and RY4v2 from Mom&PopVaporShop, along with a big 30ml bottle of Kona Coffee Milkshake from VirginVapor, and all three of them are making me very happy.
