OK...read all the pages I missed since I was here only a couple days ago...damn you guys talk ALOT:laugh:
I'd post a funny pic but I can't seem to locate my Photobucket on this new/refurbished pc. It's a Windows 7 like my old one...BUT, trying to transfer everything from the old to the semi-new one has taken a toll on my less than stellar brain cells.

And I've had unexpected company up the yingyang...but I loved it! The three GD's came over Sun. with two of their finacees, we pigged out and played euchre and other card games. The day before I had a taste for some venison so I took a pkg. of backstrap out of the freezer. When the kids got here I asked if anyone liked venison...unfortunately they all said yes! I didn't even know the girls had ever had it, their other parents/grand parents don't hunt! By the third batch I had to hide myself some cuz they ate up the first two almost as quick as I cooked it!

I'm missing Gil! And Sashwa!

I know how to keep myself sane. Sometimes we got to go with what makes our life liveable. Sometimes cutting ties lets us be free of the burden that can result in a unhappy life.

I think its good when you know thyself, and you obviously do.

I have always realized that I can't help anyone else if "I'm not okay". Taking care of yourself is precisly what enables us to give to others.

Otherwise, there is no energy available to do that.

hey can somebody PM or email me the engagement ring funny? I have just the person in mind to share this with. :)

As for the Jeep Cherokee, may I throw this in? I've owned 3 of them. I loved everything about them......except the short wheelbase. That finally caught up with me one day, ina very dire way. I "over corrected" just a tad, and eveyrthing came together, the outcome of which was literally CAREENING into the oncoming lane, then back to my own, then back into the onccoming lane, etc. Well you get the picture. Anyone who has been in a vehicle that does this knows exactly what I am talking about. You have lost control, 100%, and there is very little you can do once it decides to "go into that mode."

I do not like vehicles that flip real easily. I have many frineds who ended up in ditches and on telephone poles that way, but thankfully, like me, are still alive.

High center of gravity is great.......but not combined with a short wheel base. Unless you are only using for OFF ROAD.

Just giving this little tidbit out......I know this vehicle very well, very well. After that incident, I was at Toyota the very next day, getting a Tacoma truck. The feeling of being "more adhered" to the road was pretty instant, and I will never go back to the cherokee model.

I would get other jeeps.......just not that one. It's gorgeous, I love the design, I love the usability of those cherokees, but the short wheel base is a no no for me now, as it would be with any other vehcile. I have never been thru a more terrifying experience in my entire life, and i"ve had some pretty close calls!!!

Your tale of skidding gave me a mental flashback. Last Friday I was driving on the interstate. Divided highway. Speed limit 65. I caught a glimpse out of the corner of my eye and looked at the oncoming traffic.

There was a mini van sideways, full speed, traveling from the fast lane to the slow. Tires skidding, smoking up a storm. On coming traffic was close. They were managing to avoid being hit when I could last see them.

I don't know what happened. It was just too fast and I was gone. I did notice lots of skid marks on the pavement when I came back.

Only one other time I saw a vehicle travel sideways on a freeway. It was in Vegas. A SUV passed in front of me a few cars up. It hit the median railing and bounced back hitting another car in front of me. I was able to steer clear.

I like lower vehicles. But due to my neck problems I need to be up high and have good clearance to see. My van and my Mariner fit the bill.

To be honest, I don't frequent that thread much as people blowing clouds isn't that thrilling to me. I see it every day here at home with DH. The only reason I do go there is to see the people, and they promptly screw the pooch on that by obscuring themselves in clouds

But, I did go and see your video! Very nice pumpkins and nice touch with the REO

I have herniated discs , so I need a higher vehicle, too. It's not the height that is the problem. It's height-combined-with-short-wheelbase.

That said, I had the 1998 and 1997 Cherokees, I think they were called Sport---have always driven trucks, SUVs, station wagons, since stooping to get into anything low to ground is uncomforble and I"m tall. Never had a problem ......until I got that almost 4" shorter wheel base.

Had a ord F-150 LARIAT before that....kinda wish I had that one back. :) Got it used off some cowgirl--- downright opulent, nerfbars, cattle catcher, window awnings...... She had dressed it up. Wasn't living where i needed something like that back then but silly boyfriend insisted it had my name on it. :)

I presently drive a Toyota Tacoma Xcab, 5 speed manual--put thru heck and back, and I mean that most people couldn't even GET up my driveway on most days. Truck hasn't cost me a dime, just scheduled maintenance + synthetic oil changes. I did put 6 ply tires on it......4 plys would be a joke for where i live.

Ground clearance is 8.5" as opposed to the older cherokee i had which was about 8.1".

If I was going to do a lot of off roading I guess I would get a jeep. "it's a lifestyle" as they say , although I've seen some amazing Taco's that where modded nicely for killer off roading to take a beating. For my general every day life, I prefer the Taco. I get about 25mpg in town, probably 28 or so on highway, but its an 8 year old truck now and those values are probably better now?

Auto Reliability GPA ratings on the Taco is far and away better than a Jeep though. An A versus a D. That right there is the deicison maker for me.

I didn't obscure myself in my videos! I think all us females did a fine job of showing clouds and our faces! I did think about just doing the vapor in the air thing. But ended up sticking to the OP theme.

 so you probably weren't impressed with the clouds I blew in his face
I'll take some pics before it is all over...I'm hoping the next attempt will get closer to the masterpiece I envision.

I invoke my right to be delusional sometimes too!

Your truck sounds just right for you.

My neck disc are all herniated. And a couple in my low back. Couldn't do the bumping and shifting if I wanted.

The Mariner is not tough to slide into. It sits high enough, and has great visibility.

The day the car wouldn't start I borrowed the neighbors truck and it was much easier to get in and out of. Plus I have to sit up stick straight with the brace on...if I have any volume to my hair at all it touches the roof of the car and drives me nuts. Next vehicle will not be a car....or a Cherokee!

thank you, Master :)

That was a beauty, and it wasn't being scalped. Excellent to see it get a great new home at a reasonable price.

Will you put me in your will for it? That way, if you have another plastic bag incident and bleed out and cause me all that worry at least something will come out of all my anxiety
