The REO Lounge - Part III

I just rewicked my all day atty with silica. It runs 27g rene41 wire and has been in use all day, every day for 2 weeks.

That wire is an absolute dog to work into shape (think pliers and blowtorch) but it lasts really well - it even stood up to a good scrub with a toothbrush to clean it, before a dry burn. Usually the wire just breaks with my abuse!

To finish it off...there was a knock on the door...I'm still nekkid...thought it was Security or someone like that to tell me to get out quick...I couldn't see who it was thru the peephole cuz I have an autumn wreath blocking it...so had to crack the door open and try to peek around it without exposing myself...felt like a contortionist...it was only a neighbor asking me if I set off the alarm

I have a fundamentally changed outlook on things since my injury. I don't run for anything. If someone calls and the phone isn't right at hand, I can call them back. If my doorbell rings and I am not expecting anyone, they can either wait or go away. So, had I been nekkid, they would have waited longer or gone away. It wouldn't bother me one iota, whereas it would have driven me crazy before! Nothing in my life is worth hurrying up for anymore

Totally agree Val, i told my lot at work, i am quite happy to walk all day long, but i run nowhere, ever. In fact if you see me running - shoot the guy behind me!

I am so indoctrinated into WD after a week long marathon, I immediately thought of a zombie chasing you and someone shooting either the person behind you as bait, or the zombie! I am hopeless!

Nah, she didn't think I started a fire...even tho I set off my apartment smoke alarm the first week I was here. One of the large, extremely noisy hall alarms is only a few feet from my door and the woman is also new here so she was confused ( I am well acquainted with that condition)I'm mostly of the same mindset...I answer my phone when I choose and also the door.It's my phone and my home so it's at my discretion whether or not I want " company" at any particular time.

But I'll still run nekkid if my home's on fire

So today after grocery shopping I pull up to the driveway and "some lady" is checking paint swatches against the house next door. I figure that was strange, so just kind of watched as I grabbed my bags. As she was walking away, I kind of said something like, "I wasn't sure if they sold the house and if you were looking to repaint it again or what?" turns out she is just a neighbor a bit down who liked the color and was trying to get a match so she wouldn't end up with a lime green or something nasty. We spoke about the neighborhood watch, the condition of our roofs, the trim etc. and she complimented me on my questioning her. Yay.

Unfortunately, the bag containing 6 pounds of meat decided it didn't want to hang out and talk, so it chose that moment to tear. I had to set everything down quickly. My purse had my REO resting on top. It slid out of it's cover, slid to the ground in a very UNexciting manner. I reached down, put the cover back on, put it the few inches it fell back into my purse and carried on our conversation, the whole time cussing inside because it had gotten scratched. I thought, well, I have had it a good amount of time and in general take very good care of it. I don't plan on selling it, so no biggy. Come to find out, the REO may have an infinitesimal scratch on it, but my Trippy tip got a chunk out of the lip part so it is rough now with a tiny chip out. Not enough to cut, just enough to piss me off. I now hate neighborhood watch and doing my damn duty as a good neighbor.

I have a hypothetical question for everyone with a Reo. Who would be interested in a nice leather holster with a belt clip, or a button snap on it? I am in conversation with a well established holster maker, and they have Reos on the way as we speak to gauge the project. I want one, who would be with me? Oh, and I am also trying to see if I can review one of the first ones so we can all "see them in action". I am pretty excited about this cause my poor Reo has a few scars and I dont want to see her get anymore.
I would like the clip, but snaps would be nice for making it into a lanyard or attaching to a bag. Looking for feedback. Its otherwise still to early to say much of anything else about the project, but I am not the maker. Just a guy pulling for some stylish protection for my Reo. High end PV + high end case = VapersWin

At this point the clips/snaps are just speculation. But I would imagine the clip is like an old pager. The snap like you mentioned. Then with the snap you could also hang it from your neck if you bought some leather string or something like it.

Did you just read my post? I wish I had mine earlier today!

I have possibly the last REO lanyard that was made by Serenity Gear. I bought it knowing I would be using a walker for a while, and now I use it on the bike, and if I am going to be walking around a lot so I have my hands free in case I fall. Apparently no one is making them now, so this is needed. I hope you find enough interest to have someone take up the slack!

That is not the point. The point is the one I favored on THIS REO, is now chipped, AND my REO is scratched

but I think Bert can fix the chip.
