Exactly what I told DH. They can't tolerate the lost revenue. Apparently he heard on the news today that the county supervisors are meeting this week to vote on taxing them because they have nicotine. One of the supervisors got it right and said, "we want people to quit smoking, these are working, why tax them?" and is against it, the others want the cash from it. And that is all he remembers about that

Because they want us to think that they care about the populace they serve, but they really don't want us to quit. If they did, they would be shoving these ecigs down everyone's throat. They flat out make way too much money off the sale and regulation of tobacco products.

I get what you are saying but we should keep in mind how many house fires occur every day and how many of them are started by ecigs vs lit cigarettes. In fact there was another one on the west side that was caused by a smoldering cigarette ..... The husband will live, but not sure the wife will survive.
I agree whole-heartedly with your words. I just thought that it was interesting that the article was labeled in such a way as to draw a negative picture of the e-cig. The E-cig was only charging and the the title was "E-cigarette Fire". Now suppose you only read that headline(as I often do), and didn't know any better, would you surmise that falling asleep with an E-cig in your hand was similar to falling asleep with a lit cigarette? Maybe so.
Many gadgets recharge these days and on the rare occasons when one shorts out, I doubt they're normally called; Ipad Fires, flashlight fires, cell phone fires, etc. Probably just described as an electrical fire unless the writer has agenda or wants to take a cheap shot. JMO
