Good morning Reoville. 22 degrees in Albany, NY today. :( I had a great lunch with friends yesterday, Chili made with hot Italian sausage, cornbread, apple sauce, guacamole, chips and a green salad. Finished off with cheese cake and blueberries. Weighed my Grand and Woodvil yesterday. The Woodvil is 1.25 ounces lighter than the Grand.I haven't been giving as much love to the Grand lately as I've been hitting the button on the Woodvil 95% of the time. Noticed yesterday that even though the leaves are gone on the trees around here that there's a stark beauty to the landscape right now. Its like the character lines of a face well earned. It all made me think a bit as I moved down the road in my car, the earth spinning around and traveling around the sun, and the sun traveling through the galaxy, and the universe expanding, and the leaves falling from the trees and human relationships always changing, just what is reality anyway. Reality isn't the right word. So this is what coffee, vaping and quiet time can do to me early in the morning at 6:59;43...44...45...46 AM.

I enjoyed playing "find the REO" with your picture yesterday. The blond at the other end of the table had me distracted. :)
Even went to the grocery store to get all the fixin's for chili.

Good Morning Reoville!

It is 17 here in southern Ohio. Frost on my van! I have to leave at 10 a.m. and might have to clean some off then.

I am warm in here. The guys here have a great furnace!

It will be cold tomorrow leaving early. Should be about 21 then.

Odd that it's warmer up here, north of you.

Yes was very chilly here also when I got up. Was 15 degrees! Burr had to start the van early and let it thaw out some. Funny I can not park in the pole barn because the Hubby has his snowblade in the middle of the floor! Wondering when he will get the idea to put it on his truck so I can park in the pole building?????? Men! Maybe he is waiting for the first heavy snowfall.......
Well have a great day everyone. No flames on my RM2 and liking this eckowool.

Yes, and yes. Though we might have to tidy up a bit before you arrive. I love my wife, but we are both terrible at keeping the place tidy. ;)
Tidy up, for me?:laugh: You weren't here when I showed off the barn I'm living in. ;)
We only have two days of cold, then a week of fairly warm again.

Val I did as you suggested. I burnt it until the juice burnt out. Kept heating it over and over. It is getting red from the center of the coil out. The "legs" wire do not get red at all. Let it burn in spurts like Johni mentioned. Numerous times. Without juice on the eckowool it never flamed up at all. Then squonek with juice and seems to be working fine. I can hold the button down for quite a time and no flame. Geez I needed a wick that I would not burn up! The cotton I just seemed to burn up. Then I went from burning the cotton (not into flames tho!) but the burnt hits to one that literally caught fire! LOL But now I think this eckowool will work better for me. I can't burn it up if I build the coil correctly and dry burn first! Dummy me! Guess there is always something new to learn! Now it is working fine!
What would I do without all you awesome people????? I guess I am just getting so old and all of this is just so hard for me to learn!

Just a couple thoughts from randomly firing synapses.
To start out with, I vape NETS (Naturally Extracted Tobaccos). This type of juice is known for gunking up coils due to the natural sugars and particulate matter. That being said, I dry burn my coils a LOT, usually with the cover off so I can see what is happening with the RM2. When the coil is exceptionally gunky, I see a hot leg when I first start. As the gunk is burned off the coil, the hot leg goes away. In the 6 months of building coils for the RM2, I have never seen a flame. (If I did, the juice that caused it would learn to fly very quickly.) I can tell you that the only thing in the RM2 that can burn (with the temperatures possible to generate) is the wicking material. I am currently using XC-116 and 132. This material is treated at (at least) 750 degrees. Again, that temperature is not possible to be reached in the RM2.

The flames that you have are from the juice. There is either alcohol in the juice (unlikely) or the sugar in the juice is burning. Typically, any alcohol in a juice will dissipate after a day or so of being exposed to air. The sugars will not dissipate with "steeping". It sounds like your juice (boba's) is quite high in sugar content. According to the material safety sheet, sugar should not be exposed to temperatures above 162 degrees F. It burns at 320 degrees F. Both of these temperatures are valid for the RM2. My recommendation would be to find a different juice with a lower sugar content. The temperature at which VG will ignite is 797 degrees F, PG is 789.

I saw the pic of your spread yesterday. May I ask if you ate the cool whip? It looked a bit off in the picture

Good morning REOvillians!

Since it is report the morning temperature day, I will play: it is 0745 and 41 degrees. And yes, we have heat

-----------
ETA: SORRY all for the spoiler on SOA. It won't happen again now that I know people watch it later like we do. I only saw the very end because the other show I was watching ended and the TV automatically switched to it. We will watch it tonight. Luckily, last week's ended with her holding the baby with a gun in her lap, so what I divulged wasn't pretty much already shown ;)
