i like Easy.

1) get Rob to do it!

2) Get anyone with Guru/Master after their name to do it!

3) follow the video and DIY! I hate that connector btw! There is no easy way - the pin sits on the bottom of the 510 connector. i like 1) best.

But as a slight aside - you might tell your friends that it is not necessary to exert the force of a bull elephant charging when firing any device.

Running off on a pirate ship Scott? I have a stud in my ear and cheap metal allergies mean it's platinum.

I have no mail coming today...so i'll just have to go shopping for what i want! Right now coffee is assuming priority #1. Reo has second coat of varnish drying so that's 4 hours. I got up at 4am to coat a copper vein Reo! smh.

T

i assume you are coating it to prevent discoloration? what kind of coat?

i bought a copper vein from the classies and the only hint of copper is around the catchcup where hands and fingers rarely come into contact. the rest is all black.

i bought another one from reosmods a few months ago, but have semi-retired it after reading the thread about CV discoloration over time. i've thought about a clear jwrap but the site says they only fit older Grands. i'm not sure if i could coat it without ruining it, but i may have to try that.

And, Good Evenin' all!

Happy weekend everyone :)

Got a big day planned of nothing and then some more nothing after that.

My 10 dollar ohm meter from fastech showed up yesterday and I am stunned at the quality of this little thing.

Really I've used two other types before and I like this one the best. It actually came in a retail box and is superb in fit and finish it blew me away and was not a home brew box like I expected. I just might get a couple more while they are still there just for back-up and back-up :D

which one? link, please... i have a cheapo $5 meter and a higher-end one that's as big as a horse. looking for a small auto-everything...

i read that too - but the conclusion was :too bad - that's how they are. So i bought clear polyurethane varnish and it has now been coated twice in it.

Naturally i got an RM2 too. I have not even put a battery in the Reo yet. Tomorrow perhaps.

The finish is hammered anyway, so little need to worry about brush marks - i used (lazy again...) a rolled up bit of kitchen roll as a brush! I'll be fascinated to see if it works after a month of use or goes that rotten-apple colour the rest do!

Hi Karen - any experience with a copper vein Reo? I'm going to look pretty stupid using it in a freezer bag if my coating fails! or maybe not!

My Copper Vein door is still new so no problems yet. I take the Grands to work so it always has a cover too.

My daughter had a Silver Vein. Now it is totally black.
