Drive-by. Good day Fine REO Folk. Came back to old house early evening with all intentions of loading car and heading back to new place. DH had a Dr appointment in Dallas so got back an hour later. He wanted to get caught up on timeline and discuss doggie matters. So I had an hour to sit outside with dogs and enjoy balmy weather before cold front came in. Then realized too tired to load up and do another run. And my recliner is where I get best sleep. Fell asleep around midnight and slept soundly til 0300. So upstairs sorting and locating winter work clothes.
DH had decided it would be better to rehome Jake Mastiff. I had been thinking the same. And Curly Doodle. So I put in my say about that. Curly is coming along much better in service dog training. He's calm, low key, never runs off, and being so cute, albeit still a large dog, to most peeps, he's far less intimidating appearance wise. Curly, for sure will take less work to finish and no way he won't "certify". Moe has a wild streak and is borderline hyper. He is a fabulous tracker. It may not be too late to train him as hunting dog. At any rate any that are being rehomed have to be house dogs for sure. So we are keeping the two Heeler girls and Curly Doodle.
It's "killing" us but the is virtually a live or die situation for us. The Heeler girls are small enough peeps aren't intimidated by them. Once I get to road working them behind tricycle the three have similar endurance so I can do all three at once. A GIANT dog, like Jake Mastiff is not "built" for lengthy road work.
I'm setting up an x-pen in garage, at new place, in garage, to pottie them when weather is like now; bone chilling, wet, high winds. It's 34F, raining, with wind chill near 20F right now. I need to locate a good source for bulk wood chips for pen. Would prefer it to be part cedar but I'm allergic to it in chip/dust form; contact dermatitis skin and respiritory. Being in a room of cedar sawdust makes my lips, mouth, tongue swell up and if enough exposure anaphylaxis. Feisty is such a delicate flower. (In a few ways.)
Where is Oldbroad? Kaypers, I picked up box yesterday. I'll open and pictures when I get to new place.
Hold those you love close in heart and mind. Find and give some happy.
