Turkey, turkey, turkey!

I love turkey. Will be having a Greenberg turkey on Thanksgiving Day, brined and fried turkey on Saturday and have two in the freezer for later on in the year.

Smoked Turkeys - Great for Thanksgiving and Christmas! a little oversmoked in my opinion, but I'll still be eating a bunch of it!

Then there's the hybrid... turkey and Mylie Cyrus...Twerky

Hah. There is no fixing it now Lauren. We know you are hot for twerky turkeys and the secret spot under their belly.

I was so disturbed by this, I had to make an Irish Coffee. Complete with the whiskey. Hopefully I will be able to get that turkey porn out of my brain. confused-smiley.gif

I will join you in the turkey love! I buy turkey a lot. Ground turkey is very good!

It can be very inexpensive and that is a big plus!

Some people on limited incomes are very happy that they can get a good sized turkey and eat well this time of year.

My one daughter has to really watch her money. Four teen age kids to feed. She buys the biggest turkey she can find and hopes for some to be left for other meals.

I have my mid sized 12lb turkey and will share a meal with my son this year. It made me happy to find a low price turkey to make me having my Thanksgiving happen.

Can't wait till Friday to cook up my turkey!

Can't forget my favorite turkey, which is Wild Turkey that Dad keeps in a flask for me and him to share. We sit back and wait for the fireworks that inevitably come when my (step) family gets together.

I was going to put some Wild Turkey in my coffee, but just couldn't bring myself to.
We have the "American Honey" version.
I was trying to get the thought of turkey porn outta my head. I figured Jameson's and Kahlua would be a better bet than Wild Turkey American Honey.
The name of it was just too disturbing after Lauren's twerky turkey porn.

Would you share your brisket recipe? Just got a new smoker and am doing turkey in it for Thanksgiving. But don't like the rubbery skin smoking it has so going to transfer into the oven at 425 degrees for last amount of time to hopefully crispen up the skin.
I do it pretty simply. Thaw the brisket, set it out and let it warm up some, apply a good rub with some spiciness to it and smoke it until it it reaches around 170 internally. Wrap in foil and put in a small cooler to finish for about an hour.

Sometimes I make a rub, sometimes buy one. I like a good amount of black and cayenne pepper, apply it liberally and rub it in good. If I smoke with mesquite, I stop the smoke after 3 or 4 hours or it can get bitter. With oak add an hour.

Whenever I eat prawns I like to say that I am getting what little they had in their tiny brains and adding it to my collective intelligence. With turkey, the equation would be a minus.

This is why when people eat turkey they tend to fall asleep. It dumbs down the brain to coma level. This is also why many workplaces give people the day after thanksgiving off, they want to make sure their employees don't come to work after being dumbed down by turkey.

You'd never know the difference at my work.
