Good Morning REOVille. Christmas means riding over fifty miles on your day off, buying Gift Certificates at various restaurants (Logan's, Longhorn, Mickey & Mooch, Tin Tin) while you're eating a McD's chicken sandwich and fries. Now it's time to finish the tree construction before football comes on.

Word to the Wise; If you decide to show off and buy a 11' Christmas Tree, be sure to turn the ceiling fan OFF before going up the ladder to place the Angel on top ! (that lump on the back of me head feels better today)

Well, it sounds like you will have a pretty nice tribe at your home, Lisa. Not the whole tribe but ......those days have probably passed.
Which is as it should be, don't you think?
By the way, the one who'd "rather we didn't exist" may well come around. You haven't lost yet. Some of these things just take time.

Well, I agree...there is always hope. That side of the family thrives on hate. They are very judgmental and like to mask their own insecurities by tearing down those around them....even each other. Not the most loving environment. Luckily, two of the three kids still talk to us, but the oldest has so much anger and hate that is continually perpetuated by his mother and siblings....he won't even take our calls anymore. So we leave him be. No need to keep bothering him when he clearly doesn't want to be associated with us. Perhaps someday he'll come around, but we're not going to hold our breath. Interestingly enough, his kids do talk to us though...we go to their birthdays and they text us and talk to us on facebook and the phone on a fairly regular basis. They live with their mom and don't harbor the same feelings he does. When we move, we'll be living much closer to them so hopefully will get to see them more often. We are very thankful for that. But enough of the family drama....

the 49ers weren't playing today, so i spent the day productively. rebuilt a rm2 (yay) and did some grocery shopping.

didn't really need groceries, but i was out of brown paper bags, which seriously simplifies "wrapping" presents.


my kids don't realize it's christmas until the crumpled up paper bags start appearing...
