AVG is pretty good. I've found that Microsoft Essentials is just as good and free! No ads etc. I've not had any issues with viruses etc. Since I made the change. YMMV. :D

i use Microsoft Security Essentials on all of my Win7/Win8 machines. I'm not sure it runs on any other Windows versions.

I have a couple of XP machines. On those i use the free AVG. It has had a decent reputation for many years.

so, Papaw- either of those, depending on Windows version is fine, imho.

You're geeky enough to fly right over my head! :)
I use the Windows Vista that was already installed. Google Chrome for everything except Pinterest, which gets FireFox. I cleared all cookies and caches about a week ago.

I've jumped through hoops, calling the provider and all that mess for the past two sales. Wasn't going to this round, but seeing that I really do absolutely have the worst speed in REOvil, I'm thinking I might have to try to speed things up again.

were they able to make any improvements the last times you complained? your results do seem quite lower than i would expect even from satellite. your ping time is what's killing you. also known as latency:

Latency is the time required for a signal to travel from its source to its destination. In the case of satellite access, that includes the time it takes to send the signal up to a satellite and back down to the ground. Since satellites typically orbit about 22,000 miles above the earth, that latency can be as long as a second every time data is sent and received.

so when my computer talks to a machine in NYC, my little electrons travel around 3K miles. yours travel 44K...

The first time I talked to them I went ahead and fell for the "you need to pay for the more expensive package" trick. It seemed a little faster, but still incapable of watching a movie so I went back down to the middle priced tier with a second two hour phone call. They can't understand a word of my hick talk, and I don't understand a word they say either. Never even could get them to put my correct address and phone number on my account.

I have spent some time today trying to hack into my account, which is hard because they switched website's and now ask for my phone number to log in...which I do not know the incorrect number that they have on file anymore.

I'll work the nerve up to call in a day or two.

At the risk of sounding racist - HRH cannot understand a word "Chuck" from tech support says to her either and usually responds with something like "sorry - but i have no idea what you're saying, but my husband will because there are a lot of Indians in his country".

I just put it down to the benefits of outsourcing. Chuck's advice usually involves more expenditure, but stopped short of a specialist team, because apparently they can only support Windows and Macs and not the Linux box i use. So i do it myself.

Some of my favourite curries are Indian!

if it ends up like the sale thread i read i'm gonna kick myself for not booking a flight to Maine and loading all my hacker tools onto my laptop :)

As most prepare for the woody sale, most of us turn our thoughts to blinging out our current Reos. In accordance with that ideal, I bring you this:
It just so happens that we found a new place for blinging up our REOs.

i like the Hornets! So in the same spirit of blinginess (is that even an adjective?) i post for you my latest stealth dripper by my Grand!

The perceptive among you will notice the clever use of an Igo-s on there, also mockingly called the RM3!

I like a nice driptip but mine are all SS, because nothing matches that lip-exciting buzz as driptip bottoms out on coil!

Sorry about the pic - i tried about oh, twice to get it to look right and lost interest - turn your head!

Pulled out my VV just because it wasn't getting any play lately. Now I'm double fisting these and giving both some play. Haha.

Wait....you mean you don't always double fist it? I rarely vape a single reo:)
I'm always double stacked, I let the flavors meld off one another, plus it gives a wick a chance to keep up:)
