Do your friends and family a favor .
Hey I know we dont want to think about the worst case, but today it jumped up and bit me. Please for the love of god and all that is good, keep emergency contact information on your person at all times just in case. My dad disappeared on Jan 6th. I only found out this morning, the 24th. And to be honest, I panicked. Hes in his 70s and well, you just never know.
His apartment was a typical scene, nothing unusual. Didnt appear that he had packed to go anywhere all his personal belongings were where they should have been, but he had his wallet on him. Car was still parked outside.
So here is what happened he went grocery shopping (on foot) and had a stroke in the store. An ambulance just happened to be passing by and was flagged down by the store owner. They took him to a trauma unit over an hour away where he stayed for 4 days before being transferred to a neurological rehab unit another hour further away. He couldnt remember my number and didnt have his phone on him. My photo is in his wallet, but no contact information. So hes been in this unit since the 10th with no way of reaching me, my brother or anyone.
When I got the call this morning, his landlord was really worried and didnt know what to do. Between him, my husband and me, we called hospitals and jails, searched obits and news and found nothing. Went to the sheriff to file a missing persons report and they found him about an hour later through their channels.
The good news is that my dad is okay considering the stroke and Ive talked to him. But I guess what Im trying to say is that its always a good idea to have emergency contact info either on your phone or in your wallet (whichever you are most likely to carry with you no matter what) so that if something (god forbid) were to happen, your family or friends will be notified. Im happy I found him, but I hope I never have to go through this again and that you never need to.

I have used a Samsung Rugby II for a couple of years. Not a modern phone, not "smart", but it's waterproof to 50 feet, shockproof, and easily the toughest I've found. I can testify from personal experience that it will survive submersion, being answered when I'm drenched in sweat, being buried in sawdust, being dropped from 10 feet, and being kicked across the room.
No offence meant but I don't like the samsung I am a diehard apple guy i don't get the other operating systems

Be VERY careful buying a lifeproof case from ebay. There are lots of bogus copies that end up not being water proof at all. Also be aware that if you use the life proof case your sound both for mic and speakers will be a bit quieter.
PS: Lifeproof is tough, but not nearly as tough as an otter box. Just an FYI
ok thanks I didn't know that I will be looking nowJustice,
I got the OtterBox Armor Series for Christmas for my iPhone 5 and it says on the case that it is good for 30mins in 6ft of water. I cant comment on how well all the safety features on it work, fortunately I havent had to test it.........yet!![]()
Woohoo, I just got my new REO Mini 2.1 setup. She's been polished to a nice nickel-ish sheen, wearing a shiny new RM2 with a 1.3ohm micro coil, topped off with my very first Trippy Tip and filled up with some mesmerizingly intriguing CantaLoopy. I'd share a pic but at the moment after such a long absence from REOville I've rather forgotten the process of uploading photos for the moment. May all your tongues be teased with monstrous clouds of tasty delights. Sincerely, your old friend, Wingapo
i spent $24 on a phone and think i got robbed! The only people that call me are people i don't want to talk to anyway - insurance sellers, market researchers, the alarm company at work telling me it's ringing etc.
The most used button on my phone is the one that says either "mute" or "ignore", but i always had an ICE # in there for Smurf just in case.
HRH on the other hand uses a phone that has no buttons on it - it's all controlled with swipes and yoga moves apparently. I cannot even answer it, so when it rings i resort to old school tactics and just stuff it under the cushions on the sofa
Computers on the other hand.....
