Good morning, Reoville:)! Since I'm pulling another of my all-nighters, will you indulge me with a classic dearly beloved on the subject?

Looks like that was a pretty rhetorical question, huh:p? I'm scrapping all my multi-quotes in favor of brewing a pot of coffee ASAP; but, first, I just wanted to wish you all a lovely Sunday!

Morning everyone. Looks like it is going to be a beautiful day. Gonna take the kiddo's to church then hopefully can spend part of the day outside if the skeeters don't carry us off!
Cheri, last year Alice gave me a few of these http://www.amazon.com/OFF-71703-Off-Clip-Starter/dp/B0043G63ZS They really do work and so much nicer than bathing in Deet.
I haven't been bit by a mosquito yet this year, but am covered up in fire ants :grr:

Good Morning REOVille, I hope everyone is having a safe and blessed weekend :)
I wish I could've done better this weekend. That TroyBuilt (MTD) riding mower that I've been wrestling with finally crapped-out. This has been an ongoing frusteration all since the middle of last summer. I've spent more time fixing than mowing. Yesterday and friend welded up a makeshift muffler (cause the $75 dollar ones kept blowing up) and just as I get to finally mowing the wiring harness shorts out, Trace the wires, find the short, repair the wires- nothing. Battery @ 12V, direct jump to starter works, so I get a switch for $17 bucks and- nothing.
Enough is Enough! Go to Lowe's and charge $2923 for a Husqvarna zero-turn mower.
As my nieghbor helps me unload it, Mamaw says "If you spent that much you need to read the Owner's Manual". As we go to bed, Mamaw says "If you tear this one up without reading the Owner's Manual, I don't want to hear about it." Over Breakfast, Mamaw says "You need to read the Owner's Manual".
So this morning I spend an hour and a half (and two cups of coffee) doing what no man should do-
Read the Owner's Manual

Do Not Kill Yourself, your children or your nieghbor's children
This is a Lawn Mower. It is designed for mowing lawns.
Do Not Kill yourself, your children or your nieghbor's children.
This lawn mower uses Gasoline. Gasoline IS Flammable. Do Not drink or bathe in Gasoline.
Do Not Kill yourself, your children or your nieghbor's children.
This lawn mower has a Battery. A battery can cause Sparks. Do Not pour Gasoline onto the Battery.
Do Not Kill yourself, your children or your nieghbor's children.
This lawn mower has Blades. When engaged, the Blades turn at a high rate of speed, Do Not attempt to touch Blades while they are engaged as there is a slight chance of serious injury.
Do Not Kill yourself, your children or your nieghbor's children,
Do Not turn this mower upside-down while you are on it. Do Not turn this mower upside-down while the Blades are engaged. Do not turn this mower upside-down while pouring Gasoline onto the Battery.
Do Not Kill yourself, your children or your nieghbor's children.

And Mamaw does not understand why I detest Owner's Manuals :p

So after wasting an hour and a half reading, I get out my new mower and just ride around about 20 minutes trying to acclimate to the steering machanism. Then, with the throttle set low. I engage the blades, make ONE PASS around the house and-
The Heavens open up and rain pours down ! :(
Oh well, I got Brave and Dragon Tattoo (American version) in from Netflix friday. Looks like a movie Sunday :pop:

Good morning REOVille. Have a Safe and Blessed Sunday :)

Cheri, Pietro is right. It's short for Red Sky mods, originally I heard of them because they make Desk Caddies and then I saw they have a line of bottom feeders, too. Their desk caddies are cool, regardless what mods you have, but the bottom feeding mods caught my eye. Too bad for them they have been out of stock for a long time. For the record, I only checked out RSM for curiosity, not necessity. I am never leaving Reoland, only using day-passes.

Here's another desk caddie site I'm looking into:

Some Reonauts used other bottom feeders before finding the REO. Some still use other bottom feeders too. Some use other wood PV's along with their REO's.

One thing for sure, since you now have wood REO's you would be able to compare function and build with others.

Sometimes you can pick up other bottom feeders in the classy's.

I have never seen another wood bottom feeder in person. Wouldn't mind seeing one, but personally I just have no interest in buying one.

HAPPY PURPLE SUNDAY REOFOLKS!!!!

Nutting better in the morn than vaping on a Reoduo and gulping down that first cup of java :). Fell asleep on the couch last night with windows and big patio glass door open just wearing shorts and tee......brrrrrrr, nut a smart move there .

Today is Beer Sunday fer me so hope yer day will be just as good. P. Brett, that mower sounds like a beast. Anyone go and see the new Star Trek movie yet? Scoot, hurry up and try the ceramic :). Pat, yer a blast, dude. I think most prefer nut mentioning competitor's products (mods) here, so don't take offense.

Karen and Pietro ya'll better click LIKE on my desk caddy/rsm comment or else I feel I'm gonna be charged with mutiny once the other reovets wake up! For the record, I don't own any RSM bottom-feeders nor am I hunting them out like I did with the elusive woodvils!

RHP

I don't just "like" posts randomly :p To be honest its kinda frowned upon to even bring up another suppliers mod in this thread but I know you meant no harm :D

Lenny (lrd) is a REOnaut that dabbled in wood bottomfeeders. He would never sell them but did make them for some of us. Here is a few He gave me for building him a laptop... WoodChuck and a VVWoodChuck

Lotsa talented folks out there, they look great Gil :)

Thanks Nutz, he had skills and a big heart. When a vendor went MIA on some people who prepaid for mods he stepped up and took care of each one out of his own pocket. I kept my promise to never sell them but gave them to my sister and brothers. I will take credit for the wood engraving of the VV. I just can't have a mod thats the same as someone elses.

I take the view that comparisons with other mods are reasonable and fair. i don't have one of everything else and 4 Reos because i feel some altruism towards Rob, but because, very simply, having tried most of everything else - they are the best i have ever come across.

It's my opinion that people really ought to try a lot of different things and waste as much money and time as i have, because then their appreciation of the simple benefits and maintenance of a Reo is striking.

I have still not made a coil like the one pdib exhibited on a post here. That's a talent there. Mine depend on time and patience and i have little of either!
