I take the view that comparisons with other mods are reasonable and fair. i don't have one of everything else and 4 Reos because i feel some altruism towards Rob, but because, very simply, having tried most of everything else - they are the best i have ever come across.

It's my opinion that people really ought to try a lot of different things and waste as much money and time as i have, because then their appreciation of the simple benefits and maintenance of a Reo is striking.

I have still not made a coil like the one pdib exhibited on a post here. That's a talent there. Mine depend on time and patience and i have little of either!

T

Thanks...I couldn't remember his name. Now I can PM him and beg for some coils.

As for mentioning Rob's competitors go....its a big NO NO and disrespectful to post links to them here. :)

I had an rsm cutlass, it was a nice wooden vv bottom feed mod, but to me too big, I've never held a reo woody, only seen pictures of them, but I'll never have one either, to me the beauty of a reo, is the metal ones, go anywhere with them, & do anything with them.
Being able to rebuild them, is the biggest bonus of the lot
In my humble opinion, you can't beat a mechanical reo, they're easily the best bottom feeder ever made

The service and support from Rob really played a big part to why I use Reos. Thanks to the reo-vets, I dont have to bug rob. Infact I'm a lil afraid of him, because he's got to have a lot of stuff on his plate so I only reach out to him if everything else fails.

If I can just convince myself to temporarily part with my woodvils, I would like to mail them to him for a quick inspection-touchup but I don't see that happening anytime soon because I'm using them everyday.

Are you nuts Nutz? She never lets me shop alone - i always gravitate to hardware stores or electronics and she is frightened of what i will buy! Most of my shopping is done online because apart from occasional forays into activity, i like my days off to be largely as idle and stress free as possible!

(as stress free as they can be trying to match her goddess standards of behaviour at which i invariably fail)

Good day fine REO Folk. Dinner was a major hit although we didn't eat till 0130 because of collard greens. I forgot to put a splash of vinegar in cooking water needed to soften mature CGs. Gluten free cornbread muffins were a major hit! Not one word about them being sweet, from "sugar/carb nazi" DH because I used (a lot of) low glycemic agave "nectar." Just had our cheezy eggs and stretching out double shot espresso w heavy cream and milk....... have lots of outside work to do today but need to digest first..... me procrastinate?

Jen, so glad you are appreciating the little Off gadgets. I whipped one out when Kay was here and she asked me if they really work.... boy, for sure do they work!!! I have a multi line mosquito regime mostly year round. I've met only a few people who the mosquitoes love more than me. A year round staple, at two exits of house, in both cars, and in my purse is Cutter's Advanced, with piciardin, that has little smell, not greasy, and doesn't harm fabrics and plastics like deet. It even has some soothing properties for bites. West Nile is a major concern here with a lot of deaths last year. It only takes one bite. I spray down in morning even if only going to car. I can only find it on Amazon, though. I can't wear any other brands because of fragrance in them.

Wood mods..... I have one non-REO that hasn't seen the light of day in over two years. One drop onto our hard floors, like the REO Woods take regularly, or a "swim," would have "the other" and all others in pieces and/or separating at glue joints!!!!! Although my VVGs are occasional "swimmers" I've managed to keep the VVWs from taking plunges but most of my Woodys and Woodvils have done some "swimming" with no ill affects. Doubt any other wood mods would come out unscathed or even survive!! And they are all relatively pristine and new looking. Gotta love Howard's wax and hard paste wax.

Have a good rest of. Beaming out healing and "lessened pain."

Hugs, Feisty Alice

OK then...I now have a bone to pick with the new Reonauts in the past couple of weeks...and you KNOW who you are!!!!

A soon-to-be reonaut has ALREADY posted her pic in The Real Us thread!

Did you all not see the "sticky" that it's a requirement?!

And we're being generous time-wise in allowing you two weeks grace...but your time's pretty near up, bubs!

:D

all kidding aside, we'd really like to put your faces with your names, if you would be so kind....

Hiya Alice

mosquitoes like me too - but since there were never any in England (it's too cold for them - they can only breed when it's 74f+),when i get bitten i swell up enormously. Worst is 2 or 3 bites on my head and face which then resembles a potato more than usual!

T

All a skeeter gotta do is touch the skin of my son and it leaves a red mark behind. They leave me alone, always the last to even feel one landing on me. Think its because of all the B vitamins I consume....hear other folks say the same.
