review
I checked, that's the correct spelling

As I mentioned earlier, I've have had a couple feet of this stuff since last week and didn't even know what I had until this morning so decided to wick up an ERA and give it a try.

I have the 3mm size which actually looks considerably bigger than 3mm. Think of two, 2mm silica wicks welded together side by side and that's pretty much what it looks like although it's considerably more flexible.

The wick itself is hollow, that is it has a channel running straight through the center of it. For as big as the wick is the channel is very narrow, I couldn't even run a regular sized, round toothpick through it however a thin, round toothpick did fit fine.

Normally when I use silica to wick an ERA I double it up but due to the size of this I thought discretion was the better part of valor and used a single piece, although it does look like two pieces side by side, or one on top of the other, depending on your political ideology.

So as not to choke the wick I ran the aforementioned toothpick down the channel prior to wrapping the coil. I used 30 Kanthal with 5 wraps which usually gives me around 1.4 on 2.5mm silica. On this much wider wick I ended up with 1.73 which at the high voltage I vape at is perfectly acceptable. I would imagine if I'd used 4 wraps I would have been in the 1.5 area. Again, no big deal, it'll just take a little experimentation.

I ran the single strand around the positive post with a long tail then back between the two posts, (I reverted back to the hex nuts from the Phillips head screws since they make it much easier to do this), with the end of the tail under the coil. Screwed it on the mod, pulsed it a few times then dripped a few drops of juice on the wick just to get it started before I squonked. Apparently I inadvertently invented a new magic act because the juice disappeared... literally. I've never seen anything wick like that, no matter what Bounty Paper Towels claim. not really sure how many drops I put on but that small piece of wick held an amazing amount of juice.

Put the cap on and without squonking took a vape. At first I didn't notice that the flavor was off but after about ten minutes or so I noticed that the flavor had improved to the point that it was better than anything I had used prior... actually a lot better. I've been vaping on it now for about 3 hours or so and it is an absolute pleasure, (it better be for as much as it costs).

I'm a very lazy squonker in that it really hurts my thumb or fingers to squonk so I usually put it off until I get a dry hit then I grin and bear it and squonk. For some reason I haven't had a dry hit, the wick seems to hold enough juice that the flavor and vapor fall off way before you get to the dry hit point. I like it just for that.

Overall I'm very impressed with this stuff. Before I realized I had it sitting with all my other wicking material I ordered 4 feet of 1.5mm earlier this morning from Stormy's Vapes... they were out of 2mm. Now I'm not sure I shouldn't have gotten the 3mm. I imagine a doubled over piece of 1.5 will work fine plus I'll be able to use the thinner stuff in the Killers... the 3mm would be way too thick.

I'm anxious to hear what Super_X and Nutz think about it when they get their vapemail. Oooooo... look at that nice cloud of vapor! How come Dawg disappeared?

Gratz Lisa! Looks awesome!

Thanks for the review Jack. Due to a pinch in finances (cough invoice from REOsmods LLC) I am holding off until the heavyweight bout between the XC-116 and the Ekowool is decided before ordering. As much as I would like to try them both side by side, I have to exercise a little financial self control. I hate financial self control! Grrr.....

You obviously haven't seen the price of kids clothing lately have you. Went to buy shoes for Gatlin. Used ones was $40-$60. I went to Walmart after I saw that.

Well Gatlin deserves the best for helping dad in the yard :). For the past 5 years I've bought only clearance items and some from Ross's. Absolutely nothing more than $25. When working in my store before these five years I was restricted from doing that although I still wore my flip flops :). RHIP brother!! DW was more times than nut barefooted, so no arguments from her (our shop was carpeted). In fact that plain t-shirt in the pic is used to go most places. Around the house I use the "holey ones", nutting more comfortable than an old tee.

Norman, you deserve that cute pooch thank you for sharing that beauty with us and yes I did notice the Reo in your shirt. You're one of my people, you don't need to prove you are a Reo-vet 2nd in commamd, in my book my hawaiian brother. Here is a map to help our reonauts identify hawaiian islandas all its glory.

Thanks Pat, but no 2nd in command here bro. If I'm second, then everyone else tied fer first, been here a little earlier than you so very undeserving of that. Everybody treated as equals here and that's a part of what makes this place GREAT!!! Noob or oldtimer peeps are peeps, all with different ideas, feelings, temperaments, likes and dislikes. Just trying to blend in and help people when needed and try my best to make'em smile, like my signature says "love all compassionately, without exception". Nut easy but worthwhile doing.

Oh Jack btw, I haven't any ecowool, will be getting some Nextel prolly tomorrow :)

I heard the Nextel needs to be kiln fired. There is a thread on here somewhere about it, and if not treated properly it is toxic or something. Please make sure you have the right stuff, we don't want anyone getting poisoned or whatever it does if not treated...
