Good morning, REOvil!

Congrats on the pup, Norman! For some reason I can't see the picture  Heelers are on the list of smartest dogs I've ever been around. I've been around a few working heelers and think you may have picked the perfect dog, just gotta teach him plenty of stuff to do. I've seen one fetch beers out of the cooler. I'm sure your pup could get a bit of exercise performing that task! :)

Congrats on the camera, Lisa! Think I drooled a little!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good hump day Fine REO Folk. Congrats Norman. Darling puppy. Our Lily Heeler, although full ACD, has an unusually thick scruff around her neck. It's so pacifying for me to keep my hand burried in that when she's snuggling. She looked like a little grey bear as a baby just like your guy. He's going to bring so much joy into your lives.

Lisa, fabulous camera.

Laura, nice to see you in lounge.

Coming home from airport this morning the escarpment looked just like the Smokey Mountains approaching from the flats. Beautiful!!! Once I got up the hill the low clouds formed a dense fog. And to top it off, look what greeted me as I turned into drive.

Be well, Feisty Alice

Ekowool Silica Rope
review
I checked, that's the correct spelling

As I mentioned earlier, I've have had a couple feet of this stuff since last week and didn't even know what I had until this morning so decided to wick up an ERA and give it a try.

I have the 3mm size which actually looks considerably bigger than 3mm. Think of two, 2mm silica wicks welded together side by side and that's pretty much what it looks like although it's considerably more flexible.

The wick itself is hollow, that is it has a channel running straight through the center of it. For as big as the wick is the channel is very narrow, I couldn't even run a regular sized, round toothpick through it however a thin, round toothpick did fit fine.

Normally when I use silica to wick an ERA I double it up but due to the size of this I thought discretion was the better part of valor and used a single piece, although it does look like two pieces side by side, or one on top of the other, depending on your political ideology.

So as not to choke the wick I ran the aforementioned toothpick down the channel prior to wrapping the coil. I used 30 Kanthal with 5 wraps which usually gives me around 1.4 on 2.5mm silica. On this much wider wick I ended up with 1.73 which at the high voltage I vape at is perfectly acceptable. I would imagine if I'd used 4 wraps I would have been in the 1.5 area. Again, no big deal, it'll just take a little experimentation.

I ran the single strand around the positive post with a long tail then back between the two posts, (I reverted back to the hex nuts from the Phillips head screws since they make it much easier to do this), with the end of the tail under the coil. Screwed it on the mod, pulsed it a few times then dripped a few drops of juice on the wick just to get it started before I squonked. Apparently I inadvertently invented a new magic act because the juice disappeared... literally. I've never seen anything wick like that, no matter what Bounty Paper Towels claim. not really sure how many drops I put on but that small piece of wick held an amazing amount of juice.

Put the cap on and without squonking took a vape. At first I didn't notice that the flavor was off but after about ten minutes or so I noticed that the flavor had improved to the point that it was better than anything I had used prior... actually a lot better. I've been vaping on it now for about 3 hours or so and it is an absolute pleasure, (it better be for as much as it costs).

I'm a very lazy squonker in that it really hurts my thumb or fingers to squonk so I usually put it off until I get a dry hit then I grin and bear it and squonk. For some reason I haven't had a dry hit, the wick seems to hold enough juice that the flavor and vapor fall off way before you get to the dry hit point. I like it just for that.

Overall I'm very impressed with this stuff. Before I realized I had it sitting with all my other wicking material I ordered 4 feet of 1.5mm earlier this morning from Stormy's Vapes... they were out of 2mm. Now I'm not sure I shouldn't have gotten the 3mm. I imagine a doubled over piece of 1.5 will work fine plus I'll be able to use the thinner stuff in the Killers... the 3mm would be way too thick.

I'm anxious to hear what Super_X and Nutz think about it when they get their vapemail. Oooooo... look at that nice cloud of vapor! How come Dawg disappeared?

Jack

With the Nextel, I'm going to second everything Jack says. Wicking is unbelievable, I hardly have to squonk anymore.

Flavor is the most consistent I have ever had. Every hit is exactly the same taste, vapor and temperature. Perhaps it's because these wicks wick like a supernatural phenomenon, but conversely, they don't allow juice to collect / pool around them like cotton does. They seem to "regulate" the amount of juice they allow to collect on them? Not sure if that makes sense, but imagine a "smart" wicking media that always and only wicks up the exact amount of juice to provide the optimum vape.

This stuff is the Shi t. I'm very happy to hear that ecowool has the same properties. Even happier that I basically ordered a lifetime supply of ecowool.

I'm no longer gonna cheat on cotton. I am gonna go tell her that its over. :)

Edit - I posted this here :). I was wondering where it went. I just made a whole new post in the RM2 wick thread cause I thought I lost this :)

Good morning, everyone :)

Sorry I missed your post last night, Darrel. I was so tired ....so went to bed kinda early...I think. don't really remember.

Getting started on distribution today...and doing things a little differently. This time, I'm trying to go paperless, which means using the tablet to record each stop instead of printing out my routes on paper. Hopefully it will work just as easily. I'm embracing change and running with it! :D

Thank you Jen and good morning. I'll try and fix the pic later after a doc appt and maybe pm you with it, I really wanted you to see him. Ohh yeah!! If I can teach him to get beer my pals be jealous as hell :)

Morning Alice, thank ya fer the congrats. Although 50/50 the pup and parents pull towards the australian shepherd side as far as looks go.
In the pic he has some of the spots typical of a heeler on his paws, but he'll have longer fur. One of the other pups was covered with spots over 50% of its body. Trying to pick one out of six (one of the seven was already for sale at a pet store) was mind boggling, I was at a lost. Actually my son made the final decision because they all looked great to me. I asked about getting 2 but just couldn't afford it, maybe a regretful thing because the seller gonna have mama spayed later.
