Doing fine. Just got a nick and probably warning bite with little venom. BP and pulse has remained within normal range. Swelling minimal. Got it suctioned out really fast. Itching almost gone thanks to benadryl.

Car is loaded, except the meat and that goes in the ice chest which is also iced and loaded with everything pretty tight except where the meat will go in the morning. The trunk is overflowing, but shuts. I still have to put my clothing bag into the back seat, and one woman. The other one goes in the passenger seat, which will immediately alarm. I told one she may end up having to hold her bag in her lap, but she didn't care. I told the other one the alarm would go off, but the bimmer shop says it is safe. The one that I told about the alarm joked to put the other in the front seat

I talked to my brother, he says no one has been to the cabin in months, and he missed the snow season so hasn't been there himself since October. I haven't been since this time last year (bum knee ya know). He said last people there was 2 to 3 months ago, so I am expecting to have to clean the run of the mill empty mountain cabin stuff. Thus the full trunk, linens are taking a lot of room so everyone will have fresh sheets, towels, paper towels and TP. I have a feeling the washer and dryer will be running nonstop to wash everything set up there now, but since I am bringing fresh won't have to worry about it right away. Hopefully I won't find any mice, and plan to check every drawer for them as well as wash down every surface, mop and vacuum. Highs are in the 70's, lows upper 30's to 40's.

All systems are go for a very nice girls night tomorrow, with the boys coming up on the bikes Thursday. Big Bear Lake, here we come!!!

I wonder if I packed enough wine?

This is too "cute." Next time invite Feisty snd she'll get rid of all bothersome, scary critters for you. Payment.... wine and Val's cooking.

Hugs, Feisty Alice

is a copperhead a rattle snake ?

No. Rattlesnake has more neurotoxin; copperhead more local and tissue. My Mastiffs and Rotties have swelling and tissue involvment but the Doodles get shocky. We've had some complications, with dogs, that involved deep bites into boney areas but Copperhead bites are rarely fatal. .... mostly local but can be quite serious with extensive tissue damage. We treat fast but bone infections, leading to kidney infection, and kidney failure, can be a secondary issue if not caught in time.

Glad to hear you're okay, Alice :) That is spooky stuff right there.

Alright...I gotta head to bed. Sleep well when you get there, everyone :)

My life and living is "spooky." Just roll with what comes but always diligent. Venomous critters are the least of the dangers we face on a daily basis.

Mainly wanted to report positive outcome from event that scares the begeebies out of most people including our major tough guy...... the old goat. BTW..... Where the hell is he any way. Gonna give him a call tomorrow. Won't wake him out of sleeping, I'm pretty sure, as it's 0200 here and I haven't closed up shop yet but, what the hell..... need to hear his voice.

I don't know Alice, I hear you bring snakes around to clear the mice. A perfectly natural solution, but one I would prefer to avoid. Even if you are there to wrangle them! ;) I would LOVE to drink some wine with you and would be honored to cook for you!

I think I will take the girls out back to see the outhouse first, I'll say something about having to go in the back door and casually point out the facility. It has a sign on the front door that says "Maison de la pew" (sp) and a picture of a skunk a la Pepe la Pew cartoon. Cheesy, but my mom had a sense of humor. I wouldn't want to let her memory down by not taking every opportunity to "shock and awe" my innocent friends. Then I will take them in, and show them the 2 bathrooms and the sign that reads something along the lines of "You don't need a match to light the lamp, merely press the button. Electricity by Edison"

Alice, that is some scary stuff with that snake bite :shock::shock:. Btw, whenever I read about your RW there, it sorta reminds me of the wild west. Yes, please give Jack a call.

Feeling fine. 0410 or so and hoping to sleep soon. Tapatalk pic posting has changed so don't know if pic will show and may have to do via computer later. Lucked out with just a small amount of venom.

Bigger news ..... brass RM2s came in. May have to polish up a couple Woodvil CCs to match for pics. Will do later.
