Well I am going to call it a night. I am just drained after this. As hard as this is, it has helped a little bit knowing that I am not alone in how much I miss him already and how deeply his passing has affected me. He meant so much to so many of us here and we all share that pain and comfort and support each other tonight and I am sure even more so in the days to come.

Hello all. It is with a very heavy heart that I am letting you know that our dear Jack passed away this past Saturday, June 1st. According to his daughter, he went dancing as usual Friday night and came home afterwards. She spoke to him earlier that evening and he was happy and his usual self. He suffered a heart attack after coming home later during that night.

So, So, sorry to hear this. My condolences to his Family. I will picture you (in my mind) riding off in the sunset, RIP Jack:nun:

Oh, this is such a shock and such a sadness. Because Jack was much more vital and spirited than most folks I know, it's just bewildering. Just as Jeni said, good to hear that his last hours were spent dancing and flirting with the ladies. He will live on in the memories not only of his RW friends and family, but in all of ours, as well. Thank you so much, Rob, for taking on the very difficult tasks that you have today. What an incredible loss.

thank you Rob, for all you are doing. I know it's not easy.

I'm trying to collect myself so I can read on and catch up in the forum, but I'm feeling a bit lost for words (yet the tears are freely flowing). Thank you Karen for calling me and talking with me...After reading the title of that thread it was at least a good hour before I actually read it. While we were musing about Jack looking for new ways of annoying me (no he didn't really annoy me) the sky opened up and the light streamed through the clouds as if happiness was leaking out of the heavens. The weird rainbow points on either side of the event were just a bonus. The picture is lame I know...took it with my phone and missed the best of the light because I was mesmerized by it and just as it was dissipating, I realized I should snap shot it.

I obviously have Jacks family in mind tonight, my heart aches for them....but I have all of you in mind as well as I know you too, are hurting. Sending you all loads of love and comfort tonight.

I have a lot on my plate here tonight and over next little while but I have had some time to reflect on Jack. His passing has made me realize how much a person on my computer screen has come to mean to me. I never would have believed it before. So I'd just like to say to you all many of you have come to mean an awful lot to me in the past year and a half or so. When I get all my current mess here sorted out I plan on meeting some of you. Likely it will just be a trip to Washington to meet our Washington peeps. But it will be better than nothing. If I win the lotto I will be sure to do much travelling and meet many more in person. Jack I will miss you and all you silly inane posts but I thank you for teaching me a very valuable lesson. Rest in peace my online friend.

Oh and ps. You better have left my baby Koa to an honourable person :)

Now for the rest of you you better be taking good care of yourselves and most importantly dance or do whatever it is that gives you the pleasure of the dance that Jack so obviously lived for.

But it's such a dumb picture!!!! I wish I had the brains to take it when the streamers of light were reaching all the way down to the city and bay. that's what i was looking at while we talked.
