I went back and caught up, something I normally don't do. I am so sorry to have brought this up again to you all, or to give you goose bumps. I just know that when I left Jack hadn't posted for a few days and I was thinking about him since I was out of the flatlands and in the mountains.
The cabin was great, there were no signs of mice, the place was clean and the only thing out of the ordinary was the dishwasher had an "out of order" sign on it so DH took a look at it and the motor had seized. We are making plans to get a new one, and go back up there to install it. The weather was beautiful, high 70's. Which is great, considering we had record highs at home!
The cat, dog and frog are all very pleased we are home. Well, the cat and dog for sure. The frog probably doesn't know we exist.

There's absolutely nothing except miles of woods and pasture across the road. No neighbors. The little white speck over toward the right (inverted triangle is little road to my place, and little white spec to the left of it is my storage barn. Sometimes I wonder if I must have been crazy to build this here
We raked up more pine needles than we could bag and cart out. Donnie even swept off the roof and took out a dead tree. Someone sucked up some underwear into the vacuum, and DH fixed that also so the whole place needed vacuuming badly. I always wash all the rugs too. And without a dishwasher, there were a lot of dishes to do including the load someone left dirty in the dishwasher (yet had the time to place an "out of order" sign). I always, always leave the family cabin in better shape than I find it
