I went back and caught up, something I normally don't do. I am so sorry to have brought this up again to you all, or to give you goose bumps. I just know that when I left Jack hadn't posted for a few days and I was thinking about him since I was out of the flatlands and in the mountains.

The cabin was great, there were no signs of mice, the place was clean and the only thing out of the ordinary was the dishwasher had an "out of order" sign on it so DH took a look at it and the motor had seized. We are making plans to get a new one, and go back up there to install it. The weather was beautiful, high 70's. Which is great, considering we had record highs at home!

The cat, dog and frog are all very pleased we are home. Well, the cat and dog for sure. The frog probably doesn't know we exist.

Excellent....not having to do a bunch of work in order to enjoy your weekend is tops. :)

And don't worry about bringing it up....we're not avoiding the subject at all. :) it's something we're all adapting to.

Holy Cow, do we live in the exact same place or what? I gueess it's a little hotter here, but when I telll people I live alone in the middle of nowhere in the woods, they don't quite get the picture til I actual send them the picture. There's absolutely nothing except miles of woods and pasture across the road. No neighbors. The little white speck over toward the right (inverted triangle is little road to my place, and little white spec to the left of it is my storage barn. Sometimes I wonder if I must have been crazy to build this here

I didn't say that  We raked up more pine needles than we could bag and cart out. Donnie even swept off the roof and took out a dead tree. Someone sucked up some underwear into the vacuum, and DH fixed that also so the whole place needed vacuuming badly. I always wash all the rugs too. And without a dishwasher, there were a lot of dishes to do including the load someone left dirty in the dishwasher (yet had the time to place an "out of order" sign). I always, always leave the family cabin in better shape than I find it :)

Hi REOvillians! We just got home and I have a lot of catching up to do...

First off, How is Jack!!

Then, where is Scott! My Newhickey got lost somewhere between packing and unpacking in Big Bear. I had DH bring up the vamo with him since he was coming the next day, I asked him to look around but he couldn't find it. I went through everything, DH went through everything and newhickey is missing! OMG, I cannot even tell you how dependent I have become on my precious newhickey!

Okay, off to see if I can find out about Jack...

My dear Val.

:(

... when I saw this post I got goosebumps. Glad Darrel broke the news to her because I just couldn't click reply this time.

I remember hun. I even had to turn to Karen in private and ask if she thought Jack was giving me the silent treatment because I asked him in the lounge about his book, and he commented on everything else except the book, then he went MIA.

nope no rain but it is humid as hell :)

Tis is my first summer smoke-free so it's humid as hell but since the windows were closed all night and A/C has been running non-stop, it don't feel so bad. Even though our electric bill is like 300/mon for this crummy apartment.
