The part of Canada that doesn't get enuf Snow :(
o.k., more advice...should i give someone his phone no? You're an angel darlin Ed, but I don't know if that'd be ok to do....

does anyone else have his number?

I'd just pm him, bur if he's not on the forum he probably wouldn't see any pm's.

Normally I would say no but in that it is also a very individual issue whether its ok or not some people I'd never give out their number others it would depend to whom the receiver was.

When it rains in Florida and doesn't stop life gets weird. About every 7 years it rains everyday for months and months. Where I live like 2 blocks from a canal and some rockpits it gets flooded and the dirt roads get dangerous near the canal. There are alligators that leave and wander all over even getting in peoples yards :(

And snakes come in my house via doggy door! Now the last time i had a snake inside he was a black snake and was curled around the toilet seat. I was younger then and faster o_O I caught the snake and relocated it...

Well to the present day. I have spotted a 2 foot snake and twice tried to get it but sadly i am slow and klutzy. Snakes make me nervous and hope this one will leave or i can catch it. It is a garter snake so it is as scared of me as i am of it.

My dogs used to chase and kill any trespasser snakes/critters, all except Ginger and she is the only dog left. At 16 years old she is slowing down also.

So far this year a baby possum got in and skinks/lizards are living on my porch. smh

Hope no gators come by to say hi :danger:

yeah i know = asap. I am staying here for Ginger because this is the only place she ever lived. She gets stressed out with changes and has been through a lot of them in the past 2 years.

On the bright side I don't live near the everglades with wild pythons and boa constrictors and various species of big/giant lizards. I am in the Central Fl area :)

You are right though, it could be worse, I s'pose.
I've only been to Jacksonville....and thankfully, wasn't there long enough to cross paths with any of the local wildlife. :D

The worst thing in Fl is the fire ants at least imo. I was born in Deland Fl but grew up In Homestead and Miami Beach. Then got tired of the big snakes and lizards so moved up to where I am now. Living in the sticks/BFE was ok but now i want to live in the city where there is garbage pickup and bus transportation.

I have been to Jacksonville a long time ago...

Isn't there dangerous animals where you live?

There's only really a couple of dangerous spiders....and you have bears and mountain lions...but they're pretty good at staying away from humans. I live in a city, so bears never come down here....and the mountain lions rarely make an appearance in city limits anymore. they don't really like confrontation so they tend to just avoid people. The spiders....well, I've only seen a few in the last 10 years, so it's not something we stress about. I'd be more afraid of my neighbor's dogs if they ever got out of their cages. :glare:

Yep, that's why i am thinking city life will be better for me. But i would worry about mean dogs getting loose! Hope you carry some protection like mace or a taser? You could always use a reo like a brick!

Well, the dogs aren't inherently mean per se...they were trained to be that way....used as fighters. :glare: While I strongly believe in rehabilitation, I would not hesitate to put one down if it became aggressive towards my kid. How they live is no way to live. It's not their fault....

And with that...I'm off to bed. Stayed up way too late as it is. Sweet dreams when you get there, Maggie :)

Good Day Fine REO Folk. Up and at em at 0400. Plumber coming at 0800. May finally have hot water in kitchen today and have him remove two AA batteries, an eGo battery (can't think of many better places for it to be) and various other articles out of downstairs bathroom sink trap. I would do it but the downstairs AC drain is glued into that pipe and I don't want to mess with cutting, fitting, and gluing. It would take me hours and trip to Home Depot and since he's gonna be here anyway he can probably do it in a few minutes. Busy Day here. Just posted over in The Real Us. Hope all have a good to great day. Hold those you love close in heart and mind. Feisty Alice

Oh yeah, before I forget. It's been about a month or more since we've been to The Oasis. Server asked about our REOs. She is borrowing a girlie decorated eGo from a friend while at work and saving up for her own but still smoking. Soon after we got there two tables filled, both within 15 ft of us, each table had a vaper (with eGos). We've never seen more than one other vaper out there even on crowded band nights. Server told us more and more people are vaping with eGo style being the norm. That's OK.... they are vaping..... AND Manager allows vaping inside now!!!!!! Huge place inside that only allows smoking inside near bar area if they can open the garage door style/sized windows. They were closed yesterday afternoon because of outside temps. DH got too hot outside and went to car while we finished our drinks. Next time we can sit inside, when it's so hot!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!! (Not that I want to sit inside but will do especially in winter gale force winds coming off lake.)

good morning Alice :)

Good morn'n sonny. Quick drop in while taking water/vape break. Plumber better not get here early. AC guy, Sat, got here early. Not good when have a herd of canines that have to be "stored" out of heat but with doors open so workers can get in and out a kazillion times. With AC guy Rosie Heeler escaped several times but he knows her and then as he was packing things up to leave all shot out of office heading for freedom. Stopped three but Heeler girls dashed out and up driveway. Sissy took Curly Doodle up and rounded them up. All Purpose Retrieving, Herding Doodle. Yesterday when lawn foreman and I right at front open courtyard gate all five busted the storm door open snd charged him (friendly, courious except for Moe Doodle) He managed to close the gate just in time. I didn't check to see if he wet himself. So today should be interesting as plumber will be working only two areas to store the dogs out of heat. Gotta run. Have a good one. Alice mom
