good for you.
I called for a repair on my leather couch today. i have a five year rip, tear, and stain protection plan that i purchased through nebraska furniture mart. they asked how the rip got there and i told them that i wasn't really sure, my mistake, i should of lied. in order for them to cover the rip, the cause has to be known.
so i asked, if i get up off of the couch and my knife catches the cushion and puts a big gash in it, will it be repaired? the reps response was, "I can't positivley tell you what the outcome of that situation would be."
sidenote; a $350 insurance police through Guardsman Furniture Protection isn't worth the paper it's printed on.

So sorry. Big drag!!!!! There is a company I checked out, a few years ago, that has DIY repair supplies. They will even color match the repair media and leather. I checked them out first when puppies did some chewing on various parts of leather recliner sofa and loveseat. Never ordered kit, though. Lots of good reviews. I can look it up for you if you want.

It is just infuriating, isn't it? I think I'm going to pass on these protection/service plans in the future. They always say 'stuff' isn't covered and try to get out of it. I spent 72 hrs fighting and stewing about this situation (not to mention the 11 days I was without my car while they tried to figure things out). It's not worth the energy. I'll just put the money I would've spent on the service plan aside and pay for repairs myself.

When I turned 25 my daughter informed me i was a quarter of a century old. Then when I turned 50 she happily congratulated my half century mark :)

When i get to be a century old i will be in the news. LOL! Just 40 more years and let me tell you the days are shorter as i get older. When i was younger it seemed like a day lasted forever. Now a year can pass so fast that i don't bother to change my clocks forward or backwards anymore. I just keep my watch time current.

Time is just a number that don't mean a thing
It is how you live life that makes a heart sing

Really!!!! I only change my watch and DH is OCD about all the others except for kitchen appliance clocks that need resetting several times a month due to electric outages or blinks. My car clock stays the same year round. Half the year it is correct. (I hate having to get the manual out to relearn how to reset it.) That's good enough for me.

A friend of mine learned what an extended warranty doesn't cover on a car just out of mfc warranty the hard way. Really taught me a lesson to read the fine print (if there is any fine print to be seen). We've been very lucky with all of our cars. I mean it. Part of it is luck. I'm always conflicted about any extra warranty. I'm really sorry for your ordeal and some of us can learn from your experience.

I'm prepping a simple short video for the Real Us thread. First time I've used Windows Real Live Movie Maker. Easy peasy. It's saving right now and, with my very slow connection, no telling how long to upload to Youtube. My Picassa was doing weird things with video editing, especially the sound.

Son and buddies came over to play Grand Theft Auto V. They've been laughing hysterically for an hour -- just went in there to see what's so da*n funny. Must be a testosterone thing -- I just don't GET IT. That is one nasty game.

you really don't seem to get the testosterone thing...

... how on earth did you ever get a son? it's kinda connected... :)

Maybe there should be a rule to put a age requirement for purchasing a Woodvil. That might help us "older" folks by having more to grab on sale night!

Either that rule or one that states a length of time as a Reonaut to purchase. No Woodvil for those that have been a Reonaut for less than 1 year! Of course that would eliminate those without a REO.

I personally think that purchases must be made by a female. They could purchase for their male partner.

Want more rules? LOL!

my dear, sweet Karen....

... how do i go about unfriending you? :)

Good Evening REOpeeps...I gotta eat cause I'm starving, but wanted to tell you a funny car story first.

So my service adviser called to tell me the car was ready. We continued to debate the issues and why things weren't "covered" under my extended plan. I said, I'm coming in now...have the manager there.

I'm getting ready to leave and I thought, how can I get some bad press out there really fast. I go to FB and 'like' their page, then I post a colorful status about the situation, what bull it is, and 'tag' them in it.

Lo and Behold, I get to the dealer and the adviser and manager have re-evaluated the circumstances and repairs were covered. Shocking, huh...LOL

good on you!

ya got sweet Kitty Karma :)

I'll slit my wrist before I ever burn bridges with Karen. She's free to un-friend me of course, but I never will. She's stuck with me like stink on a monkey, folks.

At least somebody read my post!

Yes, just trying to see if there would be a response!

I would make a purchase of one for a male Reonaut that wanted one! In fact I have done that in a few sales. One sale I bought for myself, my daughter and a wanting Reonaut. Got the first choice of each.

You are safe sweetie, in all honesty I wouldn't even vote for rules like that!
