Good morning REOvillians.
It is finally getting cooler at night! I had the windows open overnight and it is downright chilly. It's 57 F out there, which is practically freezing considering I am used to desert temps over 100F.
I am looking forward to soup, stew and roast season. We are having a ham tomorrow night, so it's time to make some split pea with the ham bone

I have been doing the routine of shutting the windows around dark. Our temps have gone as low as 45. Days in the low to high 70's. I can usually keep it about 70 inside overnight. Have to wait till around noon for the outside temp to reach a warmth that is good.
It is up to 61 here now at almost 11.
Good morning, Reoville! Didn't have time to catch up since I was out all day yesterday and am now headed off to work.
Yesterday was super fun though.

That was wonderful to have time with your friends! It never seems to be enough though once it is done.

J-WRAP CLEAR COVER UPDATE:
I couldn't find the REO clear cover on the website, so contacted them. It will be put up on the site today for everyone who wants to put one on their grands. It will save your anodized as well as keep those polished ones perfectly polished.
ETA: it is my understanding that it is removable, leaves no residue, and you can reapply it

I told him what you said he yelled something about profits and wandered off mumbling about lazy employees lol.
Anyone who thinks life is easier being the boss or owning your own business is crazy. Is it worth it totally but it's always hard work and dedication to maintaining steady income. As much as i need a easy day today I'll probably not get it. I'll probably try to get father today so i can maybe be lazy part of tomorrow. Or at the very least i can sleep in a bit if i get far enough today.
I think the deal I'll strike with her is she can take the purple on loan if she gives up cigarettes.
Will see how that goes down.

In the end, for me, all that ever mattered was who I came home to at night. But nobody ever told me that with so much love came responsibility. I don't regret meeting my soulmate, I just regret not being more prepared for it once it happened. I suppose I never thought it would happen. It's true what they say, you can't help others until you help yourself first. But the real truth is, I want to save her because I can't save myself.

It's all good. Apparently i have multiple personalities. The slave driving boss and the lazy employee. They don't get along very often but somehow haven't killed each other yet. Lol

Thanks Val for the follow through. I'm wondering which REO they are using for pattern; the old style or new with back edges more rounded. And if it will make enough difference to be concerned. Seems the new rounded back would have a slight overlap if pattern is made from old, more pointy back edges.

Good day everyone having a sick day again today left work yesterday with a bad case of" fastus poopus of the blowhole" feeling much better today but Gatlin kept me up most of the night so I figured I have lots of sick time so why not take a day 10 am now and I'm wide awake and the little bugger is sound asleep Hope everyone has a great day

You should shoot a PM to JCOkie. She has a white. I don't have one but suspect that they would be like any other metal that is powder coated. It is a slick finish and I would expect it would only show the kind of dirt that would show up on anything you touched! Should be super easy to wipe clean too!
I had problems the first day using a cotton wick, as well, but once I started remembering to squonk after every 2 - 4 hits, I've been able to go a couple of days without burning the cotton wick. I haven't tried a silica wick yet, but may get some silica to try out the next time I order supplies.
Good afternoon all! It's definitely beginning to feel like Fall outside. I actually turned the heat on for about 1/2 hour this morning when I first woke up, to take the chill off. It's pretty breezy out today - with the patio door open, I can hear the wind blowing through the trees. There is something about Fall that makes me feel like being a homebody, thinking about baking and cooking, and re-decorating or other home projects.
Darrel, glad to hear you're feeling better. Being up a lot of the night with a little one is no fun. I've taken a sick day here and there in the past for that reason.
I am so mad right now I could spit. When my package was shipping, I checked the Fedex website for delivery time. It said Wednesday, I thought great no problem. Come to find out THEY HELD IT in their warehouse since 8:32 yesterday morning with NO movement. I could have had it yesterday? It was 97F in the shade yesterday and they held my package with delicate VV wood REO's in it? I have literally refused to buy things before because of the crappy service they and UPS provide, but this just clinches it. My post office rocks, they are great and my delivery person (if it isn't his day off) will walk my packages to me. If there is a problem, they send someone out to my door.
Fedex and UPS just throw the package on my porch and run back to their damn truck. Half the time the only way I know they are here it is because my loyal dog tells them they are asshats for not being civilized and ringing the doorbell. If they ring the doorbell, she patiently watches them and never barks at visitors, but NO they have to antagonize her by throwing things at the house and running away. She takes offense at that. I do too.
So after I check tracking and discover the NON movement on my package, it is getting pretty close to noon so I walked out to the front hall just in time to see them drive up. I actually catch the guy so my package won't just be dropped on the porch as usual. I had already looked out there several times today so this was a lucky catch! The juvenile delinquents who get dropped off in front of my house every day (and half days on Wednesdays so in a half hour) because the schools seem to think our house is a bus stop even though I have become decidedly NOT friendly to the hoodlums who have broken my wall, knocked out my sprinklers, left trash all over etc. won't have the opportunity to steal it.
NOW I go to take a picture to show you all, and as usual my phone is acting up. Today it wants everything to be purple. I like purple, just not purple toned pictures. But, because I have been saying for some time now I would take a picture of the family, here it is. Proof that I am indeed having camera problems and am not holding out on you all.
ETA: isn't that a lovely, girlie purple?
