Good morning everyone. What's with sleepless nights lately. Last night dd got home at 12:30ish and not long later we smelled smoke. Lots of running around trying to find it and it turns out a moth had for behind her bathroom halogen light. Stinky glad it wasn't an issue anyways but sheesh I need sleep

Well the new parents and baby go home today!!

I'll just have to force myself to go over this afternoon so parents can take an undisturbed nap.

Sorry I've been out of pocket for a while, the busted shoulder on my good arm has made being online a painful and frustrating chore, so I haven't been doing it much. Hope all is well and everyone enjoyed their Fourth!

I think our 8 day heat wave has left us - 70 to 74 today. Our heat waves usually only last 1 to 3 days so normally no need for a/c.

The fireworks last night were really good. HRH loved them. Shopping today was like being in a ghost-town, i'm not used to finding it easy to park.

Today is time to clean and wax all my gear - a brass RM2 - hmm, that might look splendid.

Good here. Worked 5 a.m. to around noon.

I have been trying to help HRH with her impending attempt to get a driving licence here, her problem being not that she cannot drive (she's probably better than i am and in Holland they drive on the (wrong) right side of the road too), but that they use language like "render aid" with which she is unfamiliar.

I have spent 2 hours going over questions and explaining them in simple terms and realised how many bad habits i have learned! One thing's for sure - i'd fail a test in Dutch immediately.

When i get a bit of time without the hassle of work - hopefully in about a week's time - i'll make her an appointment and drive her there. I am really looking forward to going to a restaurant and her driving home.
