Alice, aren't you ever scared to go out at night? I am, even with the lighting it is still dark in the woods
I was on youtube and found a old favorite song with Helen Reddy singing,
I am Woman, hear me roar Now its stuck in my head.I put it in my favorites
No I'm not scared by much. I sometimes get a little creeped about the so many times I've run low voltage cables below the pool, around the vine covered retaining walls, with so many snakes all around. Being filled with wine made me braver. I did get a Copperhead strike earlier this yesr in least expected spot. My closest calls have been Copperheads inside, almost stepping on them or coiled up in door jam ready to strike. The Rattlesnakes warn. Corals have such small mouths they can't bite unless handling.
We don't hace bears and supposidly pumas. So far Coyotes, fox, and Bobcats are afraid of humsns. I'm pretty "friendly" with the possums and raccoons. I can get within a few feet of them. The armadillos startle me but typically are more scared of me. Any wandering humans are typically scared off by the dogs. I've been bitten or stung by just about everthing except the Tarantula Hawks which are supposed to be among the five most painful stings worldwide.
I've swam with many sharks. The most lethal sea creature I've encountered is various jellyfish. I have some allergic reactions beyond typical deadly stings from some jellyfish.
Don't get me wrong, please. I'm not fearless but everything needs to be kept in perspective.
BTW.... Very Crucial!!!!!!! After coming so close to having to kill a human the other night DH and I are going to carry good mace, as first line defence, hoping to avoid being in the situation of only having choice of killing as only option.
I have more fear of humans than much of the kingdom of wildlife.
