We still prefer prime rib and salmon or crab for thanksgiving dinner.
Now you are talking!
I dislike turkey. I cook a great one just because if I have to I may as well try to make it moist and with the best flavor possible from that nasty bird. I brine mine and then roast it, everyone loves it. I think it is a nightmare that keeps on giving for days. I don't mind the soup I make from the bones too much, but the only thing I hate worse than roasted turkey is leftover roasted turkey.
A roast or a ham is much better! Hopefully this year no one will bother me to make the turkey and I can skate with beef or pork. Or someone else cooking for a change would work also... maybe I will make a normal dry nasty bird and they won't want me to do it again
I like that crab idea too, but one of my brother's won't eat anything from the sea. He claims an allergy, but I made beef jerky once and used Worcestershire in it and forgot when he ate it. He loved it. He didn't swell up and die, so we know he isn't allergic to fish like he claims. So now I will cook with it and just not bother to tell him so I don't have to hear it. If he doesn't like something, he will just say he is allergic to get out of eating it. If I get lucky, maybe he will get an invitation to go somewhere else for a change, but I doubt it. Why can't I have normal family
