Yes, like me. Got the heater then found out I needed to get new tires immediately. Priorities, I would have waited for the heater if I knew about the tire. Hopefully the heater lets me save some money on electric.
When we moved into our house, I wanted a fireplace. My wife did not. We got a house that had a fake fireplace that ran off of propane. After doing the research on it, we removed it, and put in a high efficiency wood stove. That first winter we had 20 degree temps for 2 solid weeks. (It never got above 20). We turned off our furnace, had windows open and the patio door open and were still roasting
through that entire time. Made a believer out of us. For a cord and a half of wood, we have heat for the entire winter. Yes, it does require more effort than turning up the thermostat, but it is sure worth it. The heat that comes from it is better than that from the furnace as well. The best part is that there is no electric costs, other than the ceiling fans we run to circulate the air.
