Regardless...it will be better than last year for me. I can heat my bedroom easy, but the unfinished living room still has one wall without insulation plus 12 foot ceilings. Wanted to do the fireplace but decided a couple of plumbing issues are more important right now. And getting a new Woodvil.
Priorities, right?

Yes, I know Jen. Some people might think they can heat a whole house with the one heater. I didn't get it to keep my whole place warm. Just for the room I am in most.

With colder weather I should be able to keep the furnace temp turned down and use the supplemental heater in my "living" room. At least that is what I plan. We will see how it goes.

I did a little research on quartz heaters and had then recommended to me by a couple different people. Even a lady that was shopping by us said she had two of them and would be getting another. She said they really worked good.

I don't know, in time I will know.

I just noticed you are sporting my favorite Woodvil of all time today.

Yes, like me. Got the heater then found out I needed to get new tires immediately. Priorities, I would have waited for the heater if I knew about the tire. Hopefully the heater lets me save some money on electric.

Good morning everyone!

Thought for the day:

If you have an apple and I have an apple and we exchange these apples then you and I will still each have one apple. But if you have an idea and I have an idea and we exchange these ideas, then each of us will have two ideas. ~George Bernard Shaw

When we moved into our house, I wanted a fireplace. My wife did not. We got a house that had a fake fireplace that ran off of propane. After doing the research on it, we removed it, and put in a high efficiency wood stove. That first winter we had 20 degree temps for 2 solid weeks. (It never got above 20). We turned off our furnace, had windows open and the patio door open and were still roasting through that entire time. Made a believer out of us. For a cord and a half of wood, we have heat for the entire winter. Yes, it does require more effort than turning up the thermostat, but it is sure worth it. The heat that comes from it is better than that from the furnace as well. The best part is that there is no electric costs, other than the ceiling fans we run to circulate the air.
