Good morning REOville. Last year around this time I visited Minnesota and Wisconsin. It was in a terrible drought, the crops were withered and now beef prices are very high. I guess this year they are getting the water for this year and last! Hopefully the floods won't ruin this years crops as well!

Beautiful REO pics today!

I am getting ready to head to the cabin in Big Bear Lake on Wednesday. SCRC is having the California State Rally there next weekend, and our chapters first lady is in the hospital, which means that the 1st officer probably won't make it either. Our 2nd officer passed away this year, so the man who stepped up into his place and his wife are trying to pick up the pieces. I am going up early with another lady in the car to help set up (don't know what I can do physically, but at least I will have a car instead of the bike so can pick up groceries etc.). Our chapter isn't the hosts (the state president's chapter is) but we are the largest so we host and help out a lot. The 1st lady does a hot dog and hamburger dinner to raise money for St. Judes, and she is going to be sorely missed, but we think we can get it together. We also do a raffle and all the items have to be picked up, set up and tagged. This is a huge fund raiser for St. Jude's so very important to us. Anyway, I will be offline for a while since I have no wifi at the cabin. Just thought I would give everyone fair warning!

Everyone have a great weekend, stay dry and safe!

RHP, These are two of my woodvils. The one on the right was a special order with the plank door. It was not listed on site, done for a customer. Later it was listed in the classy's and quickly snagged for my collection.

Your VV Woodvil is a Bloodwood/Bocote. I am 100% sure.

Enjoy Val you will be missed! Take care of yourself and don't over do!

Well, I was thinking just these two things when I read your post, Val, so I've gotta just steal 'em for the +1 (apologies for the thievery of it, Frank and Cheri:p)! Have a blast while you do your good work!

You got me with more of that after-school nostalgia with the Mork and Mindy reference, Dave! Wanna watch some bloopers to take you back - Mork and Mindy Season 1 Bloopers - YouTube?

I'm in a little vicarious wood paradise with all these pictures! They are SUCH beauties!

Thanks for the well wishes for St. Judes.

We are running around thinking about what we need, even though I am not leaving for a few days. DH only has today and tomorrow, he has to work. And I am pretty useless loading the car with my leg. If the first lady wasn't ill, we wouldn't be having to worry, but she had unexpected surgery so we are all trying our best to make sure we can pull it off in a few days. She works all year for this! We have to do it for her as well as for St. Judes. I couldn't imagine if I was the one who did all this work, then ended up in the hospital unable to see its fruition.

Since I have a family cabin up there, we can go early and stay there since all the people with hotel reservations didn't make them for the extra day (not to mention the added expense to them). So now I have to gather a menu and food along with linens for the rooms for all the girls going up early. The boys will ride up on the bikes the next day. Isn't it funny how it is taking 4 women a whole day to do what one person was going to do in one day? Either that, or we just want an excuse for a girl's night out! Probably a bit of both ;)
