Happy Quit Day Jen! So far so good, spent part of yesterday cleaning my REOs and building new coils for my RM2s. Have my 3 favorite REOs lined up with 6mg Gandalf, 6mg CC House Blend and 1 with 18mg Hibrow Exotic Blend. Fresh batteries, full bottles and I'm feeling all "armed and ready".
Have a great day REOville!
Happy Quit Day to you, too! I had already cut back down (from 3) to one in morning with Mom and Sis. Made it through the crucial hour this morning with my trusty polished mini and a phone call to my Dad. The mini has to get me through the next few days because my 2.1 is all packaged up and ready to go live with Racehorse.

I am the very, very, very happy new owner of Tim's special Cocobolo 18490.

I agree Jen, this morning was kind of difficult, seems like I went thru about 1/2 a bottle in my REO before I left for mom's. My tough time will be this week, when I'm working. Being able to smoke at my desk has it's drawbacks. Hoping for some nice easy files this week, no 100 page contracts, no people who own 20 rentals and their own 5 businesses, and loan processors who actually know that yes, we do need them to send in the application, credit report and appraisal, and yes, if I don't have that stuff I can't finish their file by noon because they have a moving van waiting in the driveway, wife giving birth any second, going to be homeless, oh yeah, and we also need funds documented even tho they seem like really honest people.

Happy Father's Day Dads of all flavors.

Happy quit day girls. Pull'n for ya.

Happy Birthday Rob.

Greetings and good day Fine REO Folk.

Doing collards and grilled steak and grilled summer squashes for Dawg Paw (DH). We rarely do steak but always just salt n pepper but I found a marinade that sounds too wonderful and doesn't mask the meat flavor much so steak taking a soak in fridge right now. Didn't have fresh or dried basil but found some fresh/frozen in freezer. I know!!!!!!!!! How can a cook cook with missing herbs???!!!!!!!

Hope it's been a good one for all. Sorry if I missed anyone. Oh yeah, Norman, glad trip is going well and you are relatively comfortable.

Congrats Norman and Pietro on houses.

Darrel, close call with Simba. So glad he is okay. Can't be losing best friend/dawg child. Please keep eagle eye watch on him to make sure no hidden injuries.

DH is off till Thursday. Tomorrow into Big D to Art Museum and try out a not too expensive French restaurant that has been highly recommended. Hope they have some GF selections. Rest of week I've assigned DH as my slave driver/foreman helping me work on house.

Love you all, Feisty Alice

My dad's side of the family live in California. I lived there in CA for about 7 years. But I just grabbed this pic off the web!

I am taking cities and states off this thread:

I look up the city and grab a pic to post. It is cool when someone comments on them! Really cool!!!!;)

They grow 'em tough in Texas!

Texas mother's determination to keep her family out of danger drove her to battle an alleged carjacker until he fled from her minivan -- only to be struck by her vehicle as she tried to "stop him so he didn't hurt anybody else," the woman said.

While Dorothy Baker and her 2-year-old and 5-year-old sons were shopping Friday at a CVS in Baytown, Texas, a man identified as Ismael Martinez allegedly hid out in her unlocked van, police said.

When the family got back into the car, Baker said Martinez "popped up out of the backseat and said that if I didn't want my kids to get hurt, that I would do exactly what he said."

Martinez, 54, allegedly pulled a knife on Baker while she was driving and demanded she stop at an ATM for money, she said.

When she refused, Martinez allegedly became violent, she said.

Baker said she fought back, refusing to compromise the safety of her children.

"She's got a cut that goes across her chest, and she grabbed the knife and he bit her hand," Baker's husband, Charles Flugence said.

"I took my fist and I hit him in the face, and I told him to get out of my car," Baker said.

Baker intentionally drove her van into a telephone pole in hopes of sending Martinez through the front windshield, according to the Baytown Police Department crime report.

Police said she managed to dial 911 while she grappled with the suspect in hopes that a dispatcher might hear what was going on in the car and find a way to help, ABC station KTRK-TV in Houston reported.

"I thought, 'If you swerve and hit the pole, he's not wearing a seatbelt, he'll go through the windshield or at least hit his head, and you can stop him. You can do something to make sure that he doesn't hurt your kids,'" Baker told KTRK-TV. "That's all I was thinking of really, was just to get him away from my kids."

Police said Martinez eventually jumped out of the van and tried to flee. But before Baker knew it, she had run her car into him.

"I didn't mean to run him over," she said. "I was just trying to stop him so he didn't hurt anybody else."

Martinez was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston with serious injuries after the alleged attack. He is expected to face felony charges once he is discharged.

Meanwhile, Baytown residents have rallied around Baker's bravery.

"She was trying to protect herself and her kids. I would do the same thing," resident Joyce Sparks said.

But Baker said she is just glad her family is safe.

"You don't come after people with kids," she said. "I told him he messed with the wrong witch."

Happy Father's Day to all of REOville's wonderful dads!!! Along with your families, we all celebrate you today! Happy Quit Day to Jen and Jeni:toast:! Jen, I'm so glad that your 2.1 is going to the lovely Racehorse, and woohoo for your new Cocobolo from Tim! Great that you had such a terrific day planned, Tim! Feel better, MW, hope your kids are waiting on you hand and foot while you take it easy for that back! I LOVE Larry Miller, Trunker, and good luck trying not to melt in that heat:p! Once again, your dinner has me drooling, Alice! I just got back from a day of the doggie shampoo caravan; I was on my broken foot a bit too much, but I'm filthy (in a different way than usual), exhausted and very happy! It was a load of fun! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, all!
