Does he make them with hamburger? I've only made pinto beans with ham hocks or ham shank. I prefer ham hocks but I can't seem to find them any where these days - instead they sell pork hocks and they don't have as much flavor as the ham ones did.

That would be Kay or Julie...after they send me mine.
He did use hamburger, which in my mind makes them chili beans. I prefer ham hocks myself, but have switched to smoked turkey leg in an effort to be a tiny bit healthier.
I'm sorry, Becky! I thought about not posting it, but thought Feisty Alice had toughened everyone up to pics and stories of snakes. I do think she usually gives a warning though
Oh, it was a %1000 joke, Jen. I actually loved the picture, in fact (at least knowing that all were safe and sound). It's SUCH a blast reading about the experiences of REOville's wonderful country mice - so very far from anything I've ever known. I think it was Kay that mentioned lemon meringue pie but not sure.
Pie sounds good, will have to ask Mom to make me one when she gets back from Alaska in Sept. I am cookie and Pieless until she gets back. I can never make a pie as good as my Mom does lol

My wife can bake but since I can't exercise Im on Atkins...no pastries.
I am a Diabetic lol, but I only get a care package about every 6 months or so. Normally when she and my Niece decide to bake. I normally don't do sugars, now carbs are my down fall. I am thinking of going to the Atkins diet, but I love my potatoes
Well, considering I wound up being deemed the sausage queen after I mis-saw a photo of a dinner that Kay posted, I wasn't sure what everyone would make of the fact that my family chipped in to get me a MUCH-needed new mattress for my birthday
