I had a lot of catching up to do on here!
I am sorry to hear about your daughter Kay, it must be heartbreaking for you. I hope she comes around sooner rather than later. For everyone else who shared their experiences, I think that is so brave of you; both to have shared and to have beaten it!
I had an appointment with the doctor today. I snapped some pics of my knee xray before and after the most recent surgery (the one you all went
through with me

). You can kind of see why I was on pain killers, and why I was so scared I would become addicted to them. I really needed them, but tried hard not to take them much. I am happy that I was able to get away without becoming addicted, it would have been easy! The doc prescribed Tramadol today, and after all the walking around the hospital I needed to take it. I can't remember the last pain pill I needed that wasn't OTC, but sometimes I just need relief.
The first one shows what I call "the kickstand" that was bur grinded out and the next one shows after it is gone. It is on the left side, and looks like a shark's tooth. Damn docs couldn't find it even though I complained of excruciating pain for over a year. They just chalked that up to the damage done from the broken patella. I am so glad it is gone, and only have the ar
thritis to deal with for now. I also have some torn cartilage (I got the records from the surgery today also so they had a good look inside) and will need a knee replacement down the road, but for now 4 surgeries in 2 years is enough!
