I would guess the top cap being half the height of the Velocity top cap might be part of it...

That'd be a pretty hot vape i'd reckon. i run Velocities and Dark Horses mainly and i like the wide open airflow of both.

There's also not a lot of room for duals in a Derringer - and we run similar coils using 3mm RxW. I'd be interested to see a build in one.

The DIL lives in Spring tx and they are getting hammered.
i'm further south but HRH says she can feel the windows rattling! Some poor guy just pulled up outside and i watched him put his coat on and then make a run for the house - i know he's soaked.
i bet me grinning out the window just made his Friday!

Jinxed myself at lunchtime didn't i? It's pissing down now! :D

What is the benefit of a Derringer with a Velocity deck as opposed to say a Velocity?

T

I occasionally have issues building dual coils on a 3 post deck. Velocity deck makes it easy but with the derringer height.

I'm sure I could put duals in a Derringer with 3mm RxW. I have them in the Origen 16 right now. Since supercharging my grands I have bumped up to almost .5Ω now and at times thinking of going higher...

I used to run dual 2mm ID coils in the .25Ω range in my CAM Derringer once upon a time. After having CAM replace the insulators the second time around I figured it was best to just throw it out with the trash... That atty just can't take any heat at all. Absolute shame for a $100 atty!!!

That's why i reckoned on it being a hot vape, regardless. i don't own a Derringer, but the kind of coils i build and use makes those very small chambered atties no fun for me.

Furthermore, if i run low profile atties with huge airflow then it's obvious that they'll leak unless kept upright at all times, so that makes them not so good for work.

i made a set of coils last week that were 0.65Ω overall.
But i'm running them on a double battery series mod because i'm a greedy cloud hound.

Simple 10 wrap 26g parallels and 3mm RxW.

HRH has banned me from "her" computer room now on account of fogging it up!

Such is life.

Thunder and rain here too Debadoo! Our crazy Great Pyrenees won't go out to do her business! I might have to push her out the door. Luckly the other three fur babies don't care if they get wet!
lol Frankie won't go out either when it's raining unless he's just busting.

All those storms were well to the north of me
nice to hear, sorry yur gittin dumped on now.

Got my 2nd FastTech order in today. 2 derringers w/ velocity decks! Fat Daddy Vapes sells squonk pins that seem to fit perfectly. I may have to order a couple more just for my mechs. lol

Very kewl! does the center post just screw in and out? (hush y'all)

Here's the derringer https://m.fasttech.com/products/0/10012406/4567302-derringer-v3-styled-rda-rebuildable-dripping
The FDV are "BF RDA Replacement Contacts". The site is all one page under shop, so I can't link it.
They screw in with a 2mm Allen key.

thanks! please let us know how it all works. any leaking or anything....may have to try this.

Hello Reonauts. Sitting in a waiting room as my baby girl (now35) is having more pain. Poor thing has had horrible luck with men, and now is suffering health issues.
The 'cure' for cluster headaches has become partial paralysis (80% - 90%) on her right side. Now she is suffering numbness and pain, alternately, in her shoulder and foot.
I think she trusts the medical community way too much.
Prayers already sent for all y'all darlin!

I would guess the top cap being half the height of the Velocity top cap might be part of it...
Jup it is for me. I make wimpy duals, so not worried bout bein too hot as ST pointed out. Love my derringers, but like para, sometimes have trouble getting the duals in there with 30g cuz I can't hardly see the wire. Have troubles using a stand magnifier.

The DIL lives in Spring tx and they are getting hammered.
hope it calms down soon for em!

She returned from her trip to the dentist today complaining that they had delayed her a full hour. And i'm glad they did (that's what i pay them for) so she then went shopping for a new coffee machine and so on and so on.

i don't drink coffee either, so a Keurig will mean more to you than me. i have to say it's a nice looking device, but coffee is not the same unless there's a Chalice in in (yes Kay).

Storms are passing here and my generator is working, cos you test that crap in Texas.

Oh, and in New York(HRH has a friend there). Pinkie!

The center pin just screws out and the new one screws in. I built one and put it on my Infected Mod just to give it a test run. Surprisingly good air flow! 2.5mm, 26gK dual coils at about .33 vaped very well. I only gave it a quick wash with. Soap and water, but it still tastes like machine oil, so I'll have to clean it proper before trying with the squonk. So far I'm very very pleased. I'll probably order 2 more just to use on my tube mechs. lol. And heck, it only took 2 weeks through fasttech, which surprised me! lol

Well crap.. my latest "rescue" from the classys has a loose 510 which makes it leak inside and pool at (and out) the bottom. I tried to tighten it up but it still wants to spin and is still leaking. I don't know whether I should pm the guy who sold it to me and mention it or not.. probably wouldn't do any good. I guess she'll have to take a trip up north. None of my reos have the new 510.. how much does Rob charge to change one out?

I've thought about changing them all. I'm wanting a couple more RM4s so maybe I can add them to the order to save shipping. From now on if/when I buy more REOs I'll buy them new or from someone I know and trust

Any advice?

Papaw.. I will be praying for your daughter

If it was the old style 510 they are not adjustable. If they messed with it or you messed with it - somebody broke the epoxy seal and there you have it. There is nothing to tighten up - the center post is held in place with an o-ring & sealed with epoxy.

If it was like that when you received it I sure wouldn't be "happy" with the deal. At the very least I would be asking for a refund to cover the cost of the repair. I don't recall anything mentioned about a problem with this one.

E-mail or call Rob. I'm assuming this one has the upgraded contacts. If not you may want to get that done as well. I wouldn't want to 2nd guess what his fee will be - depending on what needs or wants to be done. It really isn't very much more than the cost of the parts.

Good Morning Reonauts. Mamaw returns from her two week vacation today ! Four sisters had their own reunion PA. I feel sorry for my brother-in-law. His beer expenses probably went up dramatically, but knowing him he just got smashed for two weeks.
At Least it is the weekend ! Not planning on going anywhere. Charlotte Motor Speedway is about 30 miles north of here (not a fan), and it's best to just lay low and let all of the drunken motorheads clear out in a few days.

Have a Safe and Blessed Day :)

Just got my skidder-crunched Grand back yesterday from Robert. Had it shaved to a low-pro and ss 510 connector installed while it was there--which brings me to my question. After looking it over a bit, I built a coil, wicked it, put a battery in and went to fire it up--wouldn't fire. Then I noticed a tiny little threaded dohicky rolling around on my desk that I eventually ascertained to be the 510 connector's center pin. Using the supplied Allen head wrench, I screwed it in until it came up snug. Works great now. I've never messed with the adjustable center pins before, so what I want to know is--Is that good enough just snugging it in?(Robert is out for the weekend or I'd have shot an email to him). Anyone?
