So, I'm looking over my dooms day stash, I think I have 5 or 6 of the springs.
Do I need more?
My thought was that if I collapse 5 or 6, I need to just STOP.

Depends on how many mods you have and if they use different sized springs. I've pancaked a few, one right after another from cap issues on a chalice 3 clone. Got rid of the clone and replaced with 3 authentics and no issues with that since.

that might be sufficient. Jup like twisted said, a lotta folks did in some springs with the chalice IIIs I know the woodvil uses different springs.....not sure if the p67 uses the woodvl spring, the grand spring, or another different spring lol

Right now, just the one mod. LP Reo Grand.
I'm running the RM2, and going to pick up another...this is my first Reo.
I always test my coils before putting it on the Reo, hopefully I won't have problems.
I think I'll get at least another 5.

I have been away so long, I did a search but got a bunch of muck. Do you know where I might find the original thread?

And would someone mind telling me, other than the shape of the P67, what the difference is from a Grand? Thanks!
Rule62 summed it all up pretty good. I would've just replied with something like the P67 is the metal equivalent of the 2015 Woodvil and kinda left it at that, but thats me though... But I will leave this though...

Oh man I have spent some time reviewing that P67 thread from the archives. Today was a good day...didn't work, got some stuff done around the house, went out for margaritas and Mexican with the wife, watched the season finale of Game of Thrones, and now having a great vape on the Grand out on the deck. Still loving the Chalice.

Good Morning Reonauts. Another work week begins. 10 more years, and my Life of Servitude should become a Life of the Poor and Elderly. I am soooo looking forward to that !

Have a Safe and Blessed Day :)

Good on you. I have 20 in at my place of employment now and figure I have at least another 15 to go. All I can think of now is that I have Friday off so a 4 day weekend is on its way.

I emailed Rob about this, last week (the "how many do I need" part, not the "After how many collapses should I quit" part :)). I thought to get 10. He laughed, and sent 5; he said 5 should last me a lifetime. Either his faith in me is touching, but misguided, or he knows something I don't know ...

Did you ask him about firing pins?
I'm trying to figure out how many I would need, to keep 4 Grands running for about 20 yrs.

I asked him what I needed to keep several Woodvils and a couple of non-Woodvils going. He didn't mention firing pins ... just springs, contact plate thingies and bottles -- assuming appropriate maintenance. Hummm.

I had emailed just inquiring what parts in general to pick up for doomsday prep. I have a LP ReoGrand.
    This was Rob's reply...
    Hello Lori

    I would want a couple

    springs
    push buttons
    positive contacts
    spare bottles
    feed tubing

With a hand full of each the mod will last a life time . You can also buy a complete rebuild kit for any reo Hope that helps

    Rob

I also got one of the 510 replacement things too.
I ordered 4 of the firing pins
I think 5 of everything else.

I'm at work, so just short and sweet...Have a great day all, will check back in at lunch. ;)

I still have the extra spring and rebuild kit I purchased with my first Reo back in Feb 2014.... I should probably send it to someone as it will never get used with either of my grands in my lifetime!!!
Someone on a very tight budget would love that.

...or hold onto it until someone is in need.
I was thinking I'd order a couple extra of things.
Someone is bound to have some sort of need (God forbid - house fire/natural disaster/etc.)

Hi all. Having a bit of trouble. Last night, I built an RM8 and it worked fine on my Grand LP. I tried it on my woodvil and it doesn't. I also built one Rob modified for me in the derringer style. Neither works on either woodvil. But both work on my Grand LP. I've adjusted my 510 grub screws in the woodvils over and over and still can't get this style atty to work. Am I missing something or are they not supposed to work on woodvils?

These are 2015 woodvils, with adjustable 510, yes?
And they work with other atties?
Some folks have found the 510 pin actually MISSING following shipment - loose in the box.
Many folks have accidentally adjusted the pin DOWN - "away" from the atty - having forgotten that it is a REVERSE thread. So if it's not making a connection, you want to turn it clockwise - the direction that usually would send it deeper - but they're reversed so it raises it...

    Hope it's something that simple!

I've turned it all the way left, then turned it slowly right, one turn at a time, until the screw came out. Can't find a happy place. :( They are the 2015 woodvils. I sent Rob a note. Don't know what to do.
