:vapor:The hammer tone feels very good in hand. Almost a little leathery but not. P67 feels great either left or right handed. The fire button action is very quick and I love the location of it. Very pleased. From what I have found not sure the 510 can go any lower. Perhaps just an O ring will sort me out. I don't know. vaping a storm and testing some code. So glad I work from home.

:matrix:

I think Rob does well at picking a happy medium for placement and depth of his 510 connector. Unfortunately, there isn't any consistency in the height of the 510 and the center pin on atomizers. I have attys that I have to use an o ring under, to hide the gap; and others that I've had to raise the center screw in the REO, in order to make contact.

Thank you for your reply. I love it but am just super OCD and didn't know if there was a way to drop it down. O ring(s) it is!

Not sure I understand the adjustable 510. What adjusts, just the height up?

There's an allen wrench with your P67 that fits into the PIN in the MIDDLE of the 510. The tiny hole - like where the juice comes up? THAT turns to raise or lower the connection to an atty.
And it is REVERSED - so you turn it clockwise, and it comes UP at you - the opposite of a normal screw...

You might try lowering it, to see if the Chalice will still make a connection with the pin lower...but you also might find it needs an O-ring under after all...

(the reverse is on purpose - that way, tightening an atty down does not turn the pin lower by friction, but would actually turn it "up" INTO the atty - for a solid connection)

You can also use the adjustment screw to 'index' your atty, so that the air holes on the atty are where you like them. Speaking of OCD, this 'indexing' can be a frustrating trial and error process. But if you're particular about where your air holes are, you can do it, and get a good solid connection. As an example, I always like my air holes facing front and back. I don't like either of them facing the button, especially on the Grands, in case I happen to over squonk. I don't want juice leaking down inside, around the button.

Thanks @Train2. I tried adjusting that to no avail. As it is as tight as it will go it is as low as it can go. No big deal.

Thanks @Rule62. I think I get it now.

Just ordered some extra batteries from the fine folks @ RTD. Have enough to roll but could use more.

Hey Puffon, I see you're in The Villages, how do you like it? I'm a little young, but getting closer, just curious though.
My wife likes it more than I. Lot's to do. The weather's good.
Getting a little too crowded for me tho.
Miss my Northern Michigan, but not the snow....:thumb:

I'll bet you miss N. Michigan, especially this time of year!!
We were at Gun Lake (just N of Kalamazoo) last year for the 4th, the weather was just picture perfect!!
I don't think my in-laws have had to turn their air on at all yet.

I looked at The Villages a couple years ago, just online, it looked like there would be a lot to do, just right there in the community.

I have a nephew who lives on Chokoloskee Island, he's a fishing guide, and then this time of year, he guides in Alaska. (June - Sept.)

Update on my "new" Reo Grand.

My Reomizer 10 RDA arrived today. I built a dual coil setup that came out to 0.8 ohm. Fired it up on my regulated RX200 to make sure the coils were glowing symmetrically. Put it on the Reo ---- nothing.

Got out the Allen wrench and raised the center 510 pin on the Reo. Put the RDA back on the Reo and !! Perfectly glowing coils. Wicked her up and primed the wicks with juice and fired up the coils. It works. Tried squonking, the bottom feeding system works.

    First impressions:

    1) I'm not liking the default metal fire button on the Reo Grand. It's uncomfortable to press with either my thumb or forefinger. I may have to buy the delrin fire button cover for a more comfortable feel.

    2) The Reomizer top cap doesn't fit as tight as my Tobecco clone Velocity RDA. I literally inadvertantly pulled the top cap off with my lips a couple of times while vaping. I may have to try putting a spare o-ring on the base (?).

    3) The battery door on my Reo looks a little corroded (?). It looks like it is brass, but my guess is it is anodized aluminum. Any way to improve its appearance. I tried some Nolaxx, which helped a little. Any type of metal polish help?

Or do that dental floss trick with a wrap or 2 under the o-rings.

Ta da! P67, in all her glory. Running a .8 twisted coil in a Stumpy. Holy moly! I'm not sure if it's the new coil and fresh wick, brand new battery, or what -- but this baby hits hard! LB is very happy. :)

Button covers are a good idea on the Grands. All 4 of my Grands have them. I didn't like the button without them either. Until you get one, here's a tip. If you're a DIY juice maker, the rubber plunger from a 3ml syringe fits perfectly.

[QU It hits a bit harder than other Reos...don't have a clue as to why, but it does...at least most of my four do, except when i make the ohms. on my coils too high, as Debadoo can attest :DOTE="LittleBird, post: 18083087, member: 237775"]Ta da! Nice lil mama and daddy ya got there! uhmmm.....just so yanno...... they tend to breed like rabbits!!
    I see Reoville lives on!!!

    Am I an oldtimer....lol
Howdy darlin!! Good to see ya!!! How are you and your family???

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has trouble with that. You're supposed to be able to turn it back a lil then forward a few times to "ooch" the airholes where ya want em, but that almost never works for me for some reason. Reckin I don't "ooch" right.

    3) The battery door on my Reo looks a little corroded (?). It looks like it is brass, but my guess is it is anodized aluminum. Any way to improve its appearance. I tried some Nolaxx, which helped a little. Any type of metal polish help?
You mean the back of the door right? Glad you got it workin, but sorry you're having so many issues with it. The top cap shouldn't be pullin off that easy.

Decided to give those 8.5mL bottles a try. What's the skinny on those? Likes/dislikes?
Some don't like em, but I love them!!! some folks have leaks with em, but I pull the bottle out of the reo to refill it...... make sure the cap is threaded right, (that's tricky) and screwed all the way down. (sometimes ya think it is and it just quite), but be gentle. Then I pinch the tube, and squeeze the bottle. If you hear any noise, gurgle or pssttt, try again. It's either not threaded just right or it's not tightened all the way down. Repeat with the pinchin and squeezin til ya don't hear any noise, only some pressure built up. I turn mine and do it about 3 times to make sure there is no noise. Put the bottle back on the reo, and you won't have leak one! When I tried to squonk a fairly new bottle after using these, I thought I wuz gonna need heavy machinery to do it. lol

I'm curious about how my fellow Reonauts are preparing for the upcoming vaping apocalypse--juice wise. Although I've not gotten into mixing my own juice, I think it may be time to snag some 100 mg. nic in preparation for hard times. It comes shipped in plastic, transfer it to glass and stuff it in the freezer, right?
