yeah I never torch it before.......but that's kinda why I was blasting it after I built the coil, to burn off any machining stuff or whatever was on it. lol Oopsy. and I've never stuck one in water unless I was rinsing out an atty but not changing coils. My coils do last a long time. I've never changed one because it was worn out or popped. Always changed em cuz maybe one started not glowing as much as the other after dryburning. or because I was bored etc lol Of course, if one isn't glowing as much I reckin maybe that is cuz it's worn outAlso, torching the wire and quenching it before winding the coils is especially bad for the metal, and unnecessary. Try setting up an atty without the torching, and power the coil with quick pulses,
