Hi Reo guys and gals, I've been out of the loop for a while, nice to find everyone here. I am asking for advice. I am looking for an atty like the old discontinued Igo S or RM3 equivalent A6 mini, for a friend who I got onto dripping. Well, now he wants another atty (like what I gave him but now discontinued) and I guess the step after that might be a Reo but who knows. I am still using Igo S and A6 mini and I have spares but I'm not giving any more away. Is there an available equivalent that anyone knows of, or have atties like that gone like the days of horse and cart? (Doesn't need to be a bottom feeder, just a dripper).

fasttech have discontinued the A6 as has Rob/REO but just found some on ebay.com at USD8.94 with free worldwide shipping, might be worth a go, I still have 2 in daily use (BF)

I always used the little guys (RM2, RM3 and Igo-S) and then I discovered the Origen 16 by Norbert. It's a little, yet mighty atty and comes with a pin for dripping (I believe. ? I only swimming these days). It is an authentic ($99) and the craftsmanship is amazing.

What type of build are you using in your Origen Little? I am still trying to get used to mine...have not found the right build or wicking. I keep flooding it, likely because I am used to the RM2 deck.

Any help would be awesome!

I generally use single coils but have been playing with duals. As far as singles, I do a simple .9ish with 28 stainless steel on a 2.0 rod, parallel with both air holes wide open with one of my mint ADV flavors. I have yet to lock it on some of my other favorites though but am tinkering. Gonna also try Claptons. Below is a super duper thread that I read when it was open and continue to check on. Do report what you have success with as I am still learning, especially on my more tobacco tasting liquids. Thanks!

I want to thank whoever started using the SS wire and shared in here. After some trial n error, I got the hang of it and I love it! I really can taste the full-bodied flavors of my juices! And my only atties are the lil ole RM2's...

You really like it ?
she's probably signed off, but she didn't at first, til she got used to it, now she really loves it. I was blown away by it. I could never go lower than about 1.3 with dual coils with kanthal, or it just was too hot and harsh. When Robin sent me some SS, I accidentally made duals that netted .6 ohm Thought, well may as well try them........ I was flabbergasted. Ordered 250 ft from temco in both 26G and 28g If you order from Temco, check out the price of the 250 ft. It was just some cents or less than 1.00 more than 100 ft. Anyhow, I'm tasting flavors at .5 duals that I've never tasted before in my juices, and it's not hot or harsh at all!!

I started using 316L shortly after seeing Rayonati Sloth's video (which is on page 65 of this thread). I've converted 12 or so of my attys over to ss. I really like it.

Gosh...now you folks keeps spending my money. I see I am going to have to order some of this new fangled SS stuff, from that crazy thing called the interweb. :)

I just bought some 26g 316L and put a set of verticals in my 454 V2. I think they were 2.5mm dia 10 wrap that were .31Ω when cold. When I fired them on my 521 Tab they went up to .42Ω and then they go back down to .31Ω when they set and get cold again... Is 316 SS supposed to do this? I don't think I have read that anywhere as yet. I will say the vape is much hotter than the single coil O-16's I have that are @ .47Ω A1 Kanthal. I would say the jury is still out on the 316L. I only bought some because I have a Halcyon DNA200 that will be here by the end of the week and I wanted to try out TC.

Yes, the resistance climb, as the coil heats up is exactly why many of us like ss. It's also why it is one of the wire types that works on TC mods. The board calculates the resistance rise, and converts it to temperature. Those of us REOnauts who are using it because as the resistance rises from the initial press of the button, the flavor seems to smooth out after the initial heat up. It's because of the resistance climb. The selection of wire gauge is dependent on how quickly you want the rise to happen. It's why I prefer 28g on my dual coils over 26g. The 26g was too slow for me. 28g fires faster. It's all personal choice. I would love 27g, I think. It would be a happy medium. But so far, Temco doesn't offer 27g.

Thanks Rule... I thought I was doing something wrong or my atty was flaking on me. It vapes ok but compared to A1 I haven't seen much of a difference overall. As I said, the dual verticals vape hotter than the A1 single coils I have in my O-16's. I could probably add a couple wraps to take care of that, but I am sure with the DNA200 I won't have to. I will have to wrap a single to go in the O-16 to do a comparison, but not sure there is enough room in it for the number of wraps I will need though...
