We had 6" come down yesterday through last night.

yipes. Yur a lil soggy too then. We had that a couple days ago, 6" in less than 48 hrs. The town I was in today 30 mins from here had 10.5" in that same time frame. Dunno what our total is for the last week and a half it's been raining.

We never got colder than -20 so I cant complain

You're about half way between Houston and San Antonio, no? Austin a little farther north. Love Austin - sixth street is da bomb. Houston can be a kicky place, too. SA, I know very little about (only stayed there once).

I don't like Austin or Houston. Love SA, and I like Ft Worth (Cowtown), but don't care at all for Dallas. I'm about an hour north of Austin and bout 45 mins south of Waco. I think I'm about 45 mins maybe from Paul

And you're just north of Austin, yeah? I love Texas - it's just so different from where I live. It's one/two of the 4 archetype US driving scapes I pictured as a kid - coastal (California), big sky plain, subtropical, and desert. As soon as I could as young man, I took a big ol' road trip with some buddies to see all of them. An eventful trip, I takes all 4 of us to be in the room to be able to piece together the whole thing (we each have parts we romanticize in our memories... usually tied to girls we'd met).

Yes, I'm 128 miles from San Antonio and 125 miles from downtown Houston. And also 120 miles from Austin. Kind of in the middle of nowhere.

Jup Tx is great. We have all the types of country there are, snow, beach, desert, hill country etc.

in your language, the 110s F happen a couple of times a year. Some year 100s are pretty frequent, but this summer just gone we only had 3 days over 100 F i think, which was unusual

Down here in Texas, days over 100F are pretty common. One summer during the drought of a few years ago, we had 69 days over 100. The lakes and rivers were drying up. Normally, we're good for maybe 10-15 days over 100. The worst part is the extreme humidity that comes with it.

I could deal with dry heat. Our heat come up from the Gulf or across from Mexico. Air so thick you can cut it with a knife. Air conditioning has a hard time keeping up.
