Sucks to be you, huh? o_O

Heh - yeah, not so much on a sunny summer day around here.

There was one guy whose life sucked though...

7 hours until the next high tide to float him out of there.

The Sirius radio channel Deep Tracks had Robbie Robertson hosting his own show yesterday highlighting all his favorite Canadian rockers. Lots of Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Ronnie Hawkins, Leonard Cohen, etc. Pretty cool.

Yeah, but not this guy...

We're really sorry about this guy.

Rush has always been my favorite Canadian band!

Ah, the holy trinity (as featured in the movie "I love you, man").

I've seen them twice... by (happy) accident. Both times they were acts in larger gigs and I had no idea they were playing. Limelight and Tom Sawyer are seriously wicked tunes.

Well, I'm of an age where punk was the big thing when I was in my clubbing prime. My city had a thriving scene and we were spoiled for live acts. Many were imports from the states (Ramones were my favourites) and Europe/UK/Ireland (I saw U2 for $6), but the local bands kicked hard. Skinny Puppy, DOA, NoMeansNo. Ah, brings back memories.

The Guess Who, Neil Young, etc. - they were my sisters' bands.

Now, however, I have an appreciation for it all.

Rush "IS" the best band that Canada has produced.... No contest there!!

Agreed. I have eclectic taste(s) in music. One of my Canadian cousins turned me on to the Tragically Hip. I like the music. I guess they are big and Canada but not many seem to know them in them in the US of A.

Its all subjective. My choice is the Guess Who. Burton Cummings should easily be in the running for the best vocalist ever--but he's rarely considered so. JMO
The Guess Who was an awesome band, but the power trio that Rush was and the dynamic they brought to music at the time was phenominal. They took rock music to a whole new level in their day. So much so they were labeled as progressive rock... 2112, was and is, still so far ahead of its time and sometimes hard to believe its been 40yrs since its release and still gets massive air time here in the US.

I'm just a musician so I tend to see things a whole lot differently!!
